I can't remember. I only played through it once and then I lent it to somebody that never gave it back. I should emulate that. I totally forgot about that game. I think there was a second one too.

Never played PE2 but the weapon upgrade system in the first one might sound familiar. You collect spare weapons and I wanna say wrenches. You can combine and modify weapons but at the permanent loss of a wrench. The only way to really take on the harder parts is to make super weapons. You can carry your weapons into the next play through which is almost necessary to upgrade enough to do everything as the best guns to take parts from are extremely limited, aka multiple times through to get the job done. There was a hard to get item that allowed unlimited modifications but trust me you earned it.

I'm going to check out all three of those games. Never heard of Jade Cacoon, and I'm always looking for good rpgs to play.

Easy one for anyone who is a huge fan so I'll go vague on the question for now:

What tattoo is seen on at least three people in one game, but never on more than one at a time?

There's a few names you could use but I'm looking for the theological name, not the biological one.

I know I know that game. I very clearly remember reading something about the tattoos somewhere, but I'm drawing a total blank on what it was.

Haven't been able to check this thread until now. I was worried there had been a ton of guesses without me here to verify. I'll give it a little more time than I'll name the character most associated with the tattoo. If that doesn't get anywhere I can also name the game and/or a memorable moment in the game surrounding the tattoo which I think would give it away either way.

I went to sleep almost immediately after you posted it or I may have been here guessing. I'm still really sick. Need my sleep.

And it's just a matter of time. My doctor's giving me six weeks on the meds, then he's going to schedule a procedure to shrink my thyroid, and that's when I'll start feeling like myself again. I have to be on a new med for the rest of my life, but if that's what it takes than that's what it takes.

If it gets ya back feeling alright then hell yes.

I would define retro as early nineties and before so it's not that.

My view of contemporary is current console generation and it's not that either.

It's a PSX game to narrow it down to something useful

Oddworld?

I've played about ten minutes of Oddworld (thanks PS+ and Vita) so no it's not Oddworld that I'm thinking of.

Do they have the real Oddworld games on PS+? Stranger isn't the norm of that series. It looks cool, I've even thought about buying it super cheap off Steam, but it's still not the norm. Play Abe's Odyssey or Abe's Exodus. Those games still rock today. Some of my favorites ever in fact. They're challenging, but not to the point of total frustration, they make you think to the point where you feel accomplished after figuring something out, they present a very fresh and engaging fantasy world that all the games take place in that'll keep you coming back, and they make you laugh throughout the entire experience.

Is it a Star Ocean game? That sounds like a Star Ocean name.

I was impressed with the ten minutes I played (Abe's Oddysey was the one from PS+) I think I just had a higher priority game at the time.

I've actually never played a Star Ocean game.

No idea, so I cheated and looked up the game to see if I played it... it's currently in my queue on my PSP, so would never have known.

With that ridiculous of a name it's either someone from Final Fantasy or a Spanish Soccer game.

Not FF or Valkyrie Profile (another series I never played). Although Final Fantasy is quite a bit closer than soccer.

I was actually tempted to buy this game again on PSN so I could Vita it up but then I learned Kyntt Underground was gonna be a plus game and that might take me into Soul Sacrifice which I should begetting soon. Ace, you're probably gonna love it. I've brought the game up a million times on this forum since I've been here so it has my vote for sure.

The combat is very similar to Parasite Eve, at least in the beginning. Brought back memories, but definitely shows its age.

Is it one of the Persona games? I'm not sure what they're all about, but I've heard them brought up a lot here

Wow....I've missed all the big series it seems. What the hell have I been playing. Not persona. I think maybe another hint is a good idea and the game's name. I wanna keep the trivia flowing....

So the tattoo can only ever be on one person at a time. It starts off on Sydney but because of the power that comes with it, his skin is ripped off for the tattoo by another antagonist. Eventually, the tattoo is passed on to the protagonist of the game, Ashley Riot.
