how do weapon's power increase with attribute strength or dex

Hello folks,

in the wiki table showing all the weapons one find a column strength and dexterity and here it sometimes reads C B+15, E E+15 or expressions with A, B, C, D, E). It even shows "S" a few times.
What does this all mean? I don't find any explanation for this expressions!

Scaling is different from weapon to weapon, but essentially it means that some damage will be added. At A/S, with the stat at 50 or so for example you can see possibly 200-300 damage added for some weapons.

D/E, and the scaling is pretty much worthless.

It also depends on the weapon generally, even if a Sword has S scaling don't expect it to add as much damage as an S scaling on a Demon Great Axe.

The letters are like in USA exams where they put letters instead of numbers, so, from lowest to highest, it's -, E, D, C, B, A, and then S
Chaos weapons, and Quelaag's furysword also scale with humanity

Some weapons can scale with more than one stat (for example, enchanted scale with whatever they scaled with before, plus intelligence)

The better the scaling, the more bonus you get from having good stats, you can see it when you look at the weapon stats(by pressing square on PS3, X on Xbox), you will see its base damage, and next to it, there's "+[number]", that is the bonus from scaling. The amount of bonus also depend on the base stats of a weapon, you won't get +400 damage from a dagger with S scaling in dex, however, you will certainly get that from giant-*** hammer/axe/sword with base damage that's already pretty high

Also, you need to meet the minimum requirements to benefit from scaling at all


Also, maybe the "+15" means that those stats are that of a fully upgraded weapon...?

An E+15 just indicates that the E is a bit stronger than the previous E on the upgrade path (I guess).

Is there no wiki page dedicated to weapon scaling? I looked but couldn't find any..

When it says A A+15
it means that on normal upgrade path it has both A scaling when the weapon is maxed on +15 and when the weapon is not upgraded at all.

When it says B A+15
it means that the weapon starts with B scalling, but when you fully upgrade it to +15 it will get an A scalling.
(actually the scalling changes somewhere in between, like +11 oraz +14)

Is there a calculator out there that helped me to see how much a weapons dmg grows together with the attribute (str or dex or magic etc.)?

I have seen such a thing but I can't find it anymore!
