    Weapon Classification

    The purpose of this thread is to clarify which weapons are considered Strength weapons, which are considered Dexterity weapons, and which are considered Quality weapons. This is designed to be a resource for all those who are unsure as to which category a certain weapon fits into, or who just want a list of weapons which would be more suited to their build or play-style.

    The information will be set out as such:

    Weapon Type:
    Weapon Name:
    Requirements: strength/dexterity/intelligence/faith
    Weapon Scaling: strength/dexterity/intelligence/faith
    Weapon Scaling at maximum normal upgrade: strength/dexterity/intelligence/faith
    Base damage: physical/magic/fire/lightning

    Just throwing this idea out there, you could possibly just keep it as one post with the headings:

    Strength

    Dexterity

    Quality

    and place the weapons you feel fit into each category under the suitable heading, then embedding a link to the weapons page on the Wiki, as it has all the stats you mention in your OP and more besides. It will also be IMO a more approachable thread for new-comers (possibly the most likely to need a resource like this) as they won't just be staring at a bunch of numbers and words, but a neatly laid-out wiki page.

    For example: Great Scythe under the Dexterity heading.


    EDIT: Now that I see it all done up, it sure does look sexy though big grin

    It has larger Strength scaling than Dexterity scaling. If you were going to judge them based on being one scale off, you would have to add a ton to the quality area, including things that are obviously more based on a stat such as the Estoc or the Warpick.

    @Dibs That's true. I would classify zwei in quality for it's effectiveness regarding a quality build.
    For exemple, zwei is much more a quality weapon than barbed straight sword is imo.

    Barbed Straight Sword is much more of a quality weapon than Zwei is.
    Just because it has lower base damage doesn't mean it's any less of a quality weapon.

    Edit : And just because it's different scaling between STR and DEX doesn't mean it can't be classified as quality.
    imo again, the barbed straight sword is a almost a broadsword with worse scaling + bleed. That can be good, but I feel that it's better for an elemental build because of this.
    I would add zwei in the quality section because it's at least as much a quality weapon as a strength weapon. But maybe I'm just playing on words here happy

    I have always considered the Pike to be more of a quality weapon. Its true that it gets its power from DEX, but at 24 and 10 weight, its pretty needy for END and STR as well. Just like how I consider the Dragon Slayer Spear, which of course is not really quality per say, is. I think stat requirements should be a consideration.

    Weapons like the zwei that scale C/D are quality since they don't get full ar untill 40/40.
