Good All-Around Lighter Armors Empty Good All-Around Lighter Armors

Post by Xaelai Sat Apr 27, 2013 1:02 am

So I'm starting to like this one character of mine a bit more, I'm tired of the heavy/clunky stuff that barely mid-rolls (and/or stuff I'm forced to wear Havel's to get mid roll) like Ornstein's armor and such, so I've been looking over armor tables and blaah.

Having a hard time trying to decide what to go for next. Right now I'm wearing the Hard Leather set that you start with if you're a Warrior -- it is OK, but I'm wondering if there isn't something slightly better instead.

I don't want something heavier like Elite Knight's, Ornstein's, etc: I want to carry a bow, a medium heavy shield (like black knight's) + a decent sized weapon and still mid-roll with 40 Endurance and no Havel's/rofap.

The Warrior's set weighs almost 17, so I'm thinking something between 10-20 would probably work though I don't think I could go much above 20.

What do other people usually use? When I watch videos and when I see ghosts in the game, I see a lot of wanderer's and sealer's...

You should try out the Painting Guardian Set, that magic resistance is to die for, Xanthous pieces also have pretty good resistance to magic.

    -Dingy...maybe the best.

-The Hollow Warrior and Balder stuff.

-Solaires armor is imo the best medium armor.

    -Brigand is beastly.

What kind of poise are you looking for?

Xanthous Waistcloth is a great piece of armour.

I'm not sure theres armor out there besides what I start in and Dingy Robe, Knight Gauntlets, and Hallow Warrior's waistcloth.

    - Pyromancer robe (superb fire resistance)
    - Bloodstained skirt (very good resistances all around + high bleed resistance)
    - Hollow soldier waistcloth (the easiest way to stack poise without sacrifying weight)
    - Elite Knight Gauntlets (probably one of the best poise/weight/defence-ratio in the whole game)

The wanderer sets and black leather armour are pretty good if you combine them with the wolf ring. I used to have a quality build at lvl 120 wearing RoFaP and wolf ring with 46 endurance and I wore the wanderer set minus the gauntless (swapped out for giant's)- great overall defence and 61 poise!.

Bringing the badass look, at sl35, and powerful.

Tried to fill in some of the criteria. I couldn't see much else to add, since this is my anti-griefer character.
