Acid Surge Problem

I've been working on a build that uses acid surge and just read it only does 1 point of durability damage a second for a total of 8!!!

this can't be right. someone help me out here...

I knew that it was negligible but that seems way too negligible, doesn't sound right. Then again, maybe it is.

It is useless. Damaging gear was a viable tactic in Demons Souls. Because both there is no equivalent to the Scraping Spear (a weapon that damaged the target's item durability) and the spell used to damage item durability was nerfed to being completely useless. Except for long runs, durability is usually only important for weapons that sacrifice durability for a special attack (dragon weapons, channelers spear, a few boss weapons and Grant) in Dark Souls. My advice is to hope that it comes back in Dark Souls 2.

It's completely and utterly useless.I once loaded up max attunement with nothing but acid surge and had some idiot stand in every single cast and keep swinging away.His gear never broke and he had a katana.

I tried it on hollows in the burg. Unloaded two slots of it on soldier. Didn't do Jack
