    ok, I searched the forums before asking, but I couldn't find a proper answer.

    So I play on the PS3, was away for a couple of months (but as many others I came back for more punishment lol).

    After patch 1.05 there were more rings visible (I played on xbox too and there they were very common).

    But after patch 1.06 I see none! Not even in the forest or other pvp areas.

    Is this normal?

    Also my world never gets infected and messages are rarely rated. Some are +100 but most 0 0r 1.
    My connection is good (NAT2 and up 5MB down 60MB).

    Summoning is 50% success so thats ok, invading 100% success.

    I always heard that Resonance Rings were broken on PS3. They were fixed for a while, but shortly diedout.

    Resonance rings apparently don't exist on PS3 for an unknown reason.

    I'm not sure what the problem could be. I play on Xbox and I see them all the time. I also see message but I hardly look to see if they are rated. As for infected worlds, I have recently come back to Dark Souls as well and haven't had an infected world yet. When I used to play it all the time, I would have an infected world almost everyday. Maybe its because, depending on the area you play in, players have moved on to new areas to infect. That, or not many people are with the Gravelord Cov anymore.

    resonance rings never did work on the PS3, the DLC patch fixed the resonance rings problem, but it came with some monumental visual glitches (specifically invisible spells among other things) then they added a new patch which fixed the glitch but it also broke the resonance rings again.

    i have no idea why. i don't think anyone does.

    On your point about gravelording, I noticed that the gravelording mechanism works very inconsistently for me. I've been GL'd since NG+ Gwyn knows how many times but I've only seen BP once in Royal Wood.

    Well, I have been gravelorded 1 time in I think 1000 hours of play. Also seen 1 or 2 vagrants.

    I thank god that DS2 will move to dedicated servers, so that they can manage these things more easily. Glad Miyazaki is fan of the original demon souls mechanics.

    I got the gravelord message in the catacombs not too long back. On NG. Was odd.

    Resonance Rings are weirdly 360 only at the mo. Watched my friend play his DkS recently and was amazed at how many there were. Especially in Forest and Burg. Literally never seen one on PS3, ever.

    Strangely, I'm seeing less resonance rings (I play on Xbox) now than I once did.

    Maybe people are using Faith less... Resonance Rings 3358384175

    Maybe DkS 2 will have magic/faith using the old mana system, but keep the casting system for pyromancy. As much as people complain about being able to cast GC six times in a row, you can only stack up to around twenty of them. The DeS mana system restricted your number of casts by an int based mana pool, and allowed you to fully restore it with an item that you can have up to 99 of.

    Maybe they'll add a pyromancy weapon buff as well.

    Maybe Miyazaki has a profile here and is reading this post.

    I play on PS3 and after the latest patch, I don't see the rings even in the catacombs where the pryomancer and two archers are.

    Before the patches and the DLC, that was the only place I saw the rings.

    Could it be a visual glitch? Could the rings still work, but they're just not visible?

    Like someone said. The patch that FIXED the PS3 visual glitch, broke the resonance rings on PS3 And. Maybe the GL cov. I've not seen a one since that patch.

    My biggest hope for DkS2 is covenants that work and interact more with other "worlds".

    I think I've only seen BPs in Royal Wood, so the GL cov may be broken outside of the DLC areas.

    Gravelord cov isn't broken. It still works. It's just pretty rare to see any BPs.

    This is basically right, although several people are saying 1.07 rebroke resonance and that's not quite right. Resonance signs stopped worked on their own sometime between the patches. It seems to have likely corresponded with the arrival of the visual glitch, so that's probably what broke it. There were threads here speculating when exactly they disappeared and it was certainly close to when the visual glitches appeared, but it was definitely before 1.07. I was waiting to see if 1.07 was going to fix it. sad

    The visual glitches + broken resonance occurred something like ~2 weeks after the DLC launched, right? We had it working for a little bit, but not long.

    Before 1.06, two signs used to appear almost permanently in the Catacombs by the last necromancer. They would flicker oddly and only appeared online, indicating that they probably were resonance signs created by other players, but the game was glitching and causing them to spawn only in fixed locations - basically teleporting to those spots instead of appearing where they are supposed to.

    Those are no longer there, so in a way resonance is even more broken/ missing than it used to be. An entire online component missing for us on PS3...
