Low level PvP

Is there anyone who actually has a SL 1-5 that invades in the Burg and DOESN'T grief? I have a SL 3 base Wanderer with Scimitar +0 in my right hand, Rapier +0 in my left hand, Beatrice's Catalyst in my off-hand (right), and Buckler +5 in my off-hand (left). I use no armor because the 99 Humanity I have is more than enough defense for such a low area. Really, the only advantage I have over the people I invade are my rings, Leo Ring for the off-hand rapier, and Red Tearstone ring for when things get tough. The spell I have is Soul Arrow, and with Beatrice's Catalyst and 11 INT, does about 60 damage. I use it on people who are running away. Honestly the best PvP I have EVER had was with this build, because if you invade someone who knows how to play DS well, they'll be tactical and it's a REALLY fun fight, (I once invaded someone and I was literally dropping him Humanity to consume because I was having so much fun).

I did an entire tour of Lordran with my SL 6. It was a fair build. I changed armor and equipment/upgrades as I progressed. It was a lot of fun.

Good, good. I did a tour with a SL 5, unupgraded in Burg, +3 in Parish, +8 in depths, so on. I got up to my +5 Chaos in the DLC area but I started dying off there, so that's about as far as I ever invade with anything lower than SL 20.

I didn't do the DLC. Simply because I'm not good enough to do it with a low level elemental build. I also didn't do the Kiln - impossible to consistantly invade if I'm going to be invaded. And, Ceaseless Discharge was dead. I stayed at SL 6. Probably one of the funnest times I had invading.

I have a dragon on SL 15 and only spam the fire breath. I've had more than one person send me a roleplaying message in old english knight-y talk afterwards. Fun stuff.

I do invade sometimes with my sl1 and it can be fun except when I Invade someone who one shots me with dark bleed or using some +5 lightning wep.
That would make a fun fight club sl1 with unupgraded weps

I enjoy co-op in the burg at low level. I have a lvl 13 cleric, wearing chain and cleric set pants, with heater shield, armed with Astora's straight sword and a light crossbow. I shorted him in other areas so I could cast a lighting spear like Solaire, but it is so cool throwing lighting at the Tarrus Demon. I call him a Solaire wannabe.

I can't remember the last time someone invaded me, while I was waiting on my sign, who didn't use a +5 chaos fire glove or some type of elemental weapon. About the only thing I don't see is magic. However, when I do manage a win, it is so worth it.

My Sl 1 uses Hand axe +0 and Dagger +0. The hand axe is the equivalent of a Straight Sword, with the exception of that god awful backstab taking so damn long, and the fact that the R2 stunlocks. The dagger is quick and versatile and is the only "Straight Sword" type weapon that a SL 1 can really use that has the stabbing effect, aside from the broken straight sword, of which I use a +5 (60 base damage) version from time to time.

I liked invading the Burg at SL5 with a +0 whip but I still won almost all of my fights so it got boring after a while.

I really enjoy SL15-20 invades around blightown. Its really not fair sometimes....

Am I a bad person because I enjoy it? Force is hilarious in upper blightown.

Force is fine at that level, I'd think it would be hilarious if you simply used Force to scare people, not to knock them off. When they/you finally died I could only imagine how scared people were that you were going to Force them off.

I have SL 1 with most powerfull stuff there is...me and Sentiel fought Manus...won, me and one guy foght Kalameet, won of course...full elemental everything that I can wield...

SL 1 run is maybe the most fun thing to do, after platinum...

When I finally got Dark Souls on the PS3, the first thing I did was make a SL 1 run. It's how I got used to things. Now, I prefer my PS3 over my Xbox, easier to switch items, run around, and you don't have to mash the run button to... run.

IMO, taking an OP SL 1 build with max armor and elemental weapons and invading is wrong. I don't care if you've earned it. You are still trolling. IMO (again), if you are going to invade at a low level, it should be a reasonably attainable build for that level.

No honor in invading low level with maxed SL 1, of course...but more common result of invasion is showing up in a world of two or three guys that fight you together, or invading ganker police, or just being "lucky" and invade SL 120 host...

I must admit that I do sometimes invade with SL 1, but I menu swap items to mirror host...if it's one on one, if not - well it's Dark Souls!

That's kinda what I did too. Sometimes it is obvious when thye are way higher SL or about to gank you. I rapid swapped to upper level weapons and a HR to help even the odds. But, with base vitality, i'm just a OHK for many of them.

It's Dark Souls, there are lessons to be learned and to make you grow.

Try using ghost weapons. They aren't overpowered and they have really "scary" animations. The ghost blade from the shriekers is a pain in the butt to obtain though. Dual wielding jagged ghost blades looks really cool and it has a special parry animation in the offhand.

And I frequently encounter higher lvl duelists and groups of skilled players there specifically to help with the tauros.

Jagged Ghost Blades are WAY overpowered if you're invading in the Burg or Parish.
1. They bleed out, and this early on in the game, most people have no bleed resistance.
2. Being a Curved Sword, the 2-handed R1 is fast as hell, and is way overpowering.
3. Their base damage unupgraded is 155, and it's 161 from scaling with a SL 1. I know this for a fact because I farm for one on every new playthrough.

Be SL 1 invade township.

I don't even know what to do with all these souls anymore

It's not overpowered except against the very weakest players, and you can just, you know... switch weapons?

there's actually a pretty diverse player set in the burg and parish, its not just noobs
