Yes, actually, just yesterday, I've killed thousands of them damn bastards and never once a slab...but yesterday I got 2 on the first two kills.

Apparently the chance of finding a slab is very rare. But if you do find a slab, it's not very rare to find a second or even third one for some reason.

The best combo to find rare drops is
Always have 10 humanity use the symbol of avarice and the gold serpent ring
I got 3 slabs in my firts try so if you get this combo set up you willk find anything your heart desires

I got at least 50 of those, drop rate is pure luck I was farming with an sl1 build had 70 odd chunks screwed up a parry and lost my 10 humanity(no gsr) on my way back to collect the blood stain and with 0 humanity I got 2 slabs. Still nothing compared to pure blade stone.

I got TWO Dark Hands on my first drop, ner ner.
Farming is weird though. With my cleric I went back to the Asylum with just two humanity and got a sword off both Black Knights. My 10 Humanity Pyromancer got no love sadly.
With my first character though nearly every damn hollow in the parish seemed determined to offer me their broken blade. I'd just walk through with no humanity or ring and come out with like 8+.

my worst run was nearly 600k souls, 17 dark hands, and around 38 chuncks before a single slab, max item find. only reason i kept count so carefully was because the day before i had a single run that dropped 3 slabs, with only gold serp ring equiped and i figured it would be a while before i got another one.

i've been trying to get a BK Halberd to drop from that prick in the Deeproot Basin. i start a new game pick up as much humanity as i can and run my *** over to his location (god bless the master key). i make it to him in about 10 minutes from character creation and kill him with about 5 humanity on me. i killed him some 13-15 times last night alone (i've been trying all week long) and he's only dropped a blue chunk each time.
he dropped a BK Halberd for me not too long ago, but it was on a build that had zero humanity and wasn't going to use the damn thing anyway. FUUUUUUUUU!

I usually don't have to farm slabs, I have great luck getting them from crystal lizards almost every playthrough....
