Plastic...I know you're a survival horror fan... so you really enjoyed a certain part of Dead Space 2 didn't you? lol

I actually didn't find that too too bad. I think I'm just way desensitized to video game violence. If any of you ever saw the movie Zombie, that really did it for me. I'll see if I can find the scene on youtube. This girl is boarding up a door and doing it real quick and rough, and a zombie bursts through with its arms and grabs her head and tries to pull it out the door, and her eyeball catches on a loose nail. It's an older film, so the effects aren't spectacular compared to new stuff, but it definitely got me at the time.

    Here it is: https://youtu.be/DgvQkD3DkIA

Again, the special effects are old and cheesy, but it's still pretty gross. Don't watch if you're not comfortable with that.

That... Was just disgusting. Regardless of if the effects aren't the greatest, it was just horrible. Speaking of the Dead Space 2 scene, I was sick when I did that.

Yeah, I still watch Fulci flicks. A lot of younger people refuse to watch anything with special effects older than them though so I figured a warning was in order.

And my memory of it was pretty off. Definitely not a nail. It's been awhile since I've seen that one

Well, there's only 1 year between the two of us, so I guess it dosen't really matter. And regardless of if it was a nail or not, it was still bloody horrible.

I just watched the Zombi scene. It wasn't quite as bad as I expected it to be, but I don't know how I would have reacted if I wasn't prepared for it.

Oh there are absolutely some bad ones. In the horror genre especially. Some of them though I feel the older special effects actually bring a lot to the table. Jaws for example. Because they couldn't make the animatronic shark look right, they decided to just not really show it until the end of the movie when it was essential, and not knowing what was under the water made it so much more frightening than it's sequels where you see this big ridiculously fake shark in every other scene. The first Texas Chain Saw Massacre illustrates that too I think. Nothing in the movie is built up by overblown special effects or overly dramatic camera work, and I think the result is that everything comes out feeling very stark and real and brutal, and makes the movie feel so much more bizarre and terrifying; like the scene where the first kid finds the house. He walks in and is calling if anyone's home, and the door at the end of the hallway opens and Leatherface comes out and clocks him in the face with a sledgehammer and drags him back into the room and shuts the door. The camera angle doesn't change the entire time, and it just makes it feel so harsh, like it's not a big deal that it happened.

Thats always the case with any horror film.

The only series like that with a decent sequel is aliens, because they shifted the emphasis to a more action oriented film, as the whole mystery around the aliens and not knowing what it was had gone.

You know whta, the horror genre hates sequels.. i legitimately can't think of a series that has produced sequels and stayed as good as the original

The Thing too. I forgot about that one. There's a film that isn't hurt at all by bad effects. Love that movie.

I was just looking at my collection. I think you're right. I don't have any horror movie sequels. All originals. Alien is a pretty good example though, although the first one will always be my favorite. I like the second one a lot too.

In fact I just looked more stringently, and the only horror movie sequels in my collection are the Alien movies, because I bought the 3 disk set when I got it.

Actually I like Return of the Living Dead and Creepshow 2 a lot too, but I don't know how much either of those count because Return was made by a different writer and director who'd just bought the rights to the series title, and Creepshow is based off of a collection of short stories

I actually it didn't hurt. Well.. Except for the fact that I did it. Other than that, no pain at all. Blood started throbbing out when the nail was removed. I felt I little faint when that happened.
It's not the worst that's happened too me. The worst; other than braking my tebia or what ever; is when I accidently sawed off the skin of the tip of my middle finger. It's healed up now. But it hurt annoyingly when I press down on the tip of it.

I can beat that. When I was a little kid, I was swinging across monkey bars on a jungle gym in my friends back yard. It was a wooden jungle gym, and the tip of a nail was exposed on one of the support bars. Most of them had those little rubber tips on them, but we played on it a lot, so parts were worn. Anyway, I dropped off the monkey bars, caught the nail just above the belly button, and then continued to fall down it. Cut me opened all the way to the chest. I still have the scar over 20 years later.

My knee was pretty brutal too. There's a thread about that with photos from a few months back. It's called something like "Want to see something gross?" Go check it out. It's horrible.

    Found it.

I cringed at Plastic's knee injury pic. But that's about it.
I've always wondered what it feels like to have a broken bone injury where the bone sticks out of your skin.
But I don't want to know.

I'm not sure if this hurt as much in comparison to your injury, but when I was 13, in Rugby, someone tackled me. One of the other members of the team then proceeded to run for the ball, and in the process, on my head. I had concussion for 6 days.

I can only imagine kidney stones.

The worst pain I've gone through was when I pulled my groin and every muscle around it. The pain was unbearable for the first day but it strangely subsided after that. I was planning on getting a pair of crutches on the day of but all of the local clinics and pharmacies were closed. The next day I was walking fine.

Actually, in terms of size that doesn't even cover it..

    Imma find a pic:

I could find a pic of kidney stoned one, but here's a normal kidney:

    Spoiler:

A kidney which had produced stones basically would look like it's had holes drilled into it from the inside- the stones rupture lots of the tiny tubules and just create much larger overall lumen.
