The gravelord is a player, you have to find his sign on the floor (like other signs but black), invade and kill him.
I'm surprised you went through the ToTG though...

Re: disasters?
Some say the Gravelord sign is wherever the Gravelord is standing, but some say it's wherever he used the eye. Basicly, there is no answer to that until you find it. Happy Hunting!

Ah, it's definitely wherever the Gravelord is standing, not where the eye was used (unless the Gravelord stood still in the spot where they used the Eye). But yeah, this means it doesn't have guaranteed location, it could be hiding anywhere in the level.WandererReece wrote:Some say the Gravelord sign is wherever the Gravelord is standing, but some say it's wherever he used the eye. There are also a few areas that are 'chained' locations. Meaning the Gravelord and Gravelord Sign could be in a different level than the one you're in. You could be Gravelorded in The Royal Wood, for example, but the Gravelord could be in the Chasm of the Abyss. This is because the Royal Wood / Township / Chasm all get infected together and count as one larger location for Gravelord Black Phantoms. The same is true for the Undead Burg / Lower Undead Burg / Undead Parish, and the Darkroot Garden / Darkroot Forest. Every other location should be independent, I believe.
If your world has still been infected for an extended period of time, and it seems 'impossible' for the same player to still be affecting you (like you've quit the game and come back a day later and they're still there), then the game probably went into 'offline' gravelording. If you lose a connection with the gravelord who is infecting you, instead of it getting cancelled automatically, the extra black phantom enemies will remain for 10 minutes. However, resting at a bonfire or dying will reset this timer, so it's possible to indefinitely suspend the Gravelord Infection by accident.
If you can't get them to go away, try logging off and waiting for over 10 minutes without dying or resting. If you can find the Gravelord sign, invade the host and give 'em some PvP.

From my experience the gravelord sign moves. The few times my world has been cursed, it has moved around and forced me to catch it before moving to the next area(when i say area i don't mean another boss area, just another part of that same area).
