by cheyneboy Sun Feb 10, 2013 5:32 amI am currently using an Enchanted +5 Uchigatana and noticed that the damage specs were the same between 1 or 2 handed use. I tested it out several times on same enimies and the result was that more times than not more damage was done 1 handed. Anyone know the reason why? Thanks in advance

Two handing a weapon doesn't increase damage it increases the applied strength. So two handing a weapon with low strength scaling doesn't do much for the weapon's damage.

^ more precisely, it increases STR by 50%. If you have 20 STR, it will count as 30 when 2-handing, allowing for more damage and to wear weapons that you normally wouldn't have the STR requirement to use.
If you wanna make a 2-hand build, use strength weapons.

Actually all non - strength scaling weapons have a hidden 2 handed damage boost, but it's not a lot. There are a couple threads about it.

dex weapons do get a bonus when two handing them bbut not a lot, the main reason for two handing them is poise break.
