If you're into first person shooters at all it's one of the better series I think. It has a really great plot, or at least the first one did, and it's stylized in such a way that I think is pretty cool. You're also like a demon in it. You have this crazy dark power, and you use it to rip people to shreds, and throw cars at them, and rip their hearts out. Ya know, good wholesome fun.
One thing about the first one that really blew me away was the attention to detail. There was a scene where you have a date with your girlfriend, and you end up on her couch cuddling and watching a movie, and the plot calls for you to get up and leave after she falls asleep, but you can actually stay on the couch and watch the entire movie. It was To Kill a Mocking Bird. Great film

I can't really complain about ads on youtube. There's so much stuff to see there for free that i don't mind a few ads.

I don't care for the ads on youtube, they can be a bit annoying when you can't skip the 30 second ones but for the most part you can normally skip most of them. It's the 20 minute long videos that normally have those ads that you can't skip.
Also Plastic, both of the Darkness games are good. If you've played the 2nd one first I'm sure you'll love the first one. I remember watching the whole entire To Kill a Mockingbird with Jenny, almost forgot I was playing the game.

I just bought the second one today. Played through the first one way back when it first came out. My old roommate had it. I'm enjoying the second one so far. I just killed the first boss

I would maybe have bought darkness 2. But, it's rated mature

Well that's good. If your someone that is really big into learning about backstory you'll love getting all the collectables in the game the second time around.
Too bad there aren't any movies that you can watch, I would have preferred Pee Wee Herman's Big Adventure but I'm sure I'm a minority on that.

You guys know where I can get the first darkness? I got the second one without any knowledge about it and it was great. Definitely on my violent slashing shooters and a + for being able to play without forcing you to know what happened in the first game since you get a detailed summary.

I'd check your Gamestop first, I would think they would have it in stock but if they don't you might need to ask them to bring in a copy. If you don't want to do that, there is always the internet.

I'm actually glad that's the case. If more game stores actually enforced the ESRB system then it'd be a lot harder for nuts to blame gamers and game companies for violence, like that whole Connecticut thing.
^ Yeah, if all else fails there's always ebay.

Re: Random Off-Topic
The worst trouble i've ever had with buying mature rated games was when i bought AVP. Had to call my mother and lend the phone to the employee.
I really don't think that would do much though. People always seem to find a way around things.
Edit: Saying that, of course, does not mean i don't agree with you. I'm kinda happy it's not like that though, or i'd never have gotten Fable: TLC, which means i wouldn't be as good in english as i am right now.

Can't deny that fact. When I was younger the excuse was that a m rated game was for one of my older cousins. It ALWAYS worked mainly because my mother was the one talking, though she trusted my maturity and was careful with what I choose.PlasticandRage wrote:Spurgun wrote:I would maybe have bought darkness 2. I think M-rated games are by and large Ok. The kid who's playing them is the one who needs to be scrutinized.

Its up to the parents, not the stores, to moniter what games a child has access to. All the stores should do is refuse to sell mrated games to people under 18/17/16 (depending on the country) without a parent present.
The rating system needs work anyways. I'd let my 7 year old sister play halo, I wouldn't let my 15 year old brother play splatterhouse.

Been playing horror games since I was 8. and the nightmares began BEFORE them. imagine after.
Danm you people who sells anything for easy money and don't care about children!
I also blame my cousins, for having a PS1 at that time.

That's what I meant. As long as stores are carding people for M rated games, it's hard for people to blame the industry, when it's really the fault of negligent parents.
Usually in a lot more ways than just letting their children play games.

I love clearance items! Good find Plastic. I found a candy store once with the same situation. Any candy in the place a dollar a pound. I helped myself to eight pounds of jelly belly goodness.
I played the demo for The Darkness. Liked it a lot but never got it.
As for the rating system all I have to say is "Hot Coffee." Our country is so whacked that the implied consensual sex of adults is more horrifying than wholesale murder for some reason

I'm actually kind of surprised that the Darkness 2 got away with some of the stuff that it did. Mature rating or not. I just watched one of the most blatant sexual displays I've ever seen in a video game, and then ripped someone in half almost immediately afterwards.

I was probably the most psychotic kid around when i was 5-7. I used to paint these horrible, gory, bloody pictures. People didn't react to that at all. But for some reason, watching horror movies and horror games was enough sign for there to be something wrong with me.

Huzzah! I will have to start a club, everyone would love it.
Both of the Darkness games are warranted to be rated M, both have some really gory gameplay, of course the Darkness 2 is much more gorier than the first. We don't want those kids playing games about you eating the hearts out of your enemies now do we?

So derailing things cause it is off-topic does anyone know where to find a chibi Artorias? Trying something new with an avatar and I can't seem to one.

That is the closest thing I have to a "chibi" Artorias. Most people don't make chibi versions of people like Artorias.

Okay I find that both cute and funny. But really why? I'm going to have to compromise then. I been looking for something cute and funny to make with Artorias, Priscilla and Cirno. I already have an idea involving the chosen undead and Gwyn's family.
