Yeah if I'm going into hero psychology Jung is pretty much going to be a given. I don't know enough about Freud, outside of just general knowledge, to really know what to look for in that regard yet. So far I'm trying to find as many sources as possible on graphic novels as literature, and critical analysis of graphic novels. You'd be surprised how many scholarly sources there are out there that are written specifically on either the Watchmen or Alan Moore. It's kinda blowing my mind, like the literary world is finally starting to take the medium seriously, as they should IMO.

Edit: While we're talking about the Watchmen. I saw the movie a few days ago, i did quite like it. It was gorier that i expected it to be though.

You can actually do that (at least you can fool me)
If you would have just started posting acting like some random person, it would have taken while for me to realize that it's you. At least until i look at your post count

I don't like change either. I get used to it after a while, but I always seem to feel out of touch with things for a bit if the change was big enough.

- Spoiler:
Ozymandias is far from perfect. It can definitely be argued he was the only one capable of diverting the inevitable and that his harm was for a greater good, look at all the things he did prior to that conclusion's realization. Again, it's assumed that he weighed countless options and performed the only one that would actually accomplish the objective, but the lack of remorse is a red flag for some major issues. He also seems to take pleasure out of fighting his former friends. There's also a few points in which we see a touch of narcissism. I would argue against arrogance however, as most of his confidence is locked in logic and fact. You'd have to see a scenario in which he was facing known failure to evaluate if he was arrogant or not. So a few mental health concerns with a few character flaws. Dude still rocks though.

The only problem I had with Watchmen (keep in mind this was a long time ago, I saw it only in theaters, twice, but still only at launch) was that Mr. Manhattan was so overpowered. When you can warp to distant planets and conjure up savage tsunamis that the flick of a wrist you know there are balancing issues.

I think that's actually deliberate. Feeding off of Plastic's point, there's no reason to think that, if he wanted to, he could somehow avert the crisis. They show he can be multiples of himself, so even if he had to kidnap all the world's leaders and smack them around until there was actual peace it would better than the alternative. If he was really motivated, he could become a symbol more powerful than what he was. It's hinted he was flaunted as the ultimate weapon, which was the reasoning behind nuclear weapons in the first place, don't attack us because we have a bigger gun basically. Instead, he could have helped solve the world's problems by assisting everyone, etc. I could go on with that. Basically, he could have done a whole hell of a lot more than the ONE thing he was working on.
Like Plastic said, he became so detached that, despite near omniscience, he failed to actually see alternative strategies. In the end....

- Ozymandias sees that Manhattan will never be able to realize his actual potential so Ozymandias takes his old role to a much greater height. Basically, by doing what he did, Manhattan become a universal boogeyman. Rather than, "ha ha, the USA has the ultimate weapon," it's "ha ha, the ultimate weapon can strike anyone at anytime so you better get along." Essentially, he's exaggerated to demonstrate the character flaw. However, from a comics standpoint you're absolutely right. It's the same reason I never liked Superman. He's waaaay too powerful.

That's what I figured.
Oh, and andres, I'm also interested in hearing how you were allowed to write about Dark Souls.

Re: Random Off-Topic
There's a HUUUUUUUGE uproar in my area about this. Protests are clearly in no way tied to recent firearm stories and legislation. You know, since this is year FIVE and no one's had an organized protest and petitions to Albany for the last four years.
I can see the reply from Albany now:
Dear Protesters,
We appreciate your concern and involvement with the activities of your fellow New Yorkers. Please follow the enclosed link to the DEC information regarding squirrel hunting (found here). As you can see, this event is taking place prior to the conclusion of squirrel season in NY state. Additionally, I would like to point out that the daily limit for protected varieties of squirrels (gray, and in some areas, black) is 6 per day. This is the individual limit. The event you are protesting states teams may only have five, under the approved NY state limit for an individual. I would also like to point out, red squirrels, which the event in question has included in their competition are NOT protected and can legally be hunted WITHOUT LIMIT. The weigh in times are clearly prior to the end of the squirrel hunting day.
In conclusion, they're doing this completely legally and likely with the best wishes of the DEC. Basically go **** yourselves!

- Spoiler:
- Now, I understand some people will have concerns with the event regardless of legality as it promotes shooting things as competition and organized mass killing rather than a guy or two going out and shooting. However, asking law enforcement to stop a legal activity is fruitless which is my only point. Also, in my area hunting is already a competition and this one day event is unlikely to be a major upswing in squirrel murder. I've also never heard of organized protests during a fishing competition.

Exactly. I'd argue that Ozymandias and the Comedian are a binary pair in some ways too. Both of them are able to see things for exactly what they are, and to a degree each prompts the other to his ultimate fate, but the Comedian's general perspective puts him in a position to not be able to change anything, while Ozzy's puts him in a position to do so much that it's morally questionable. There's definitely a link between character psychology and morality.
Part of the reason I like Rorschach so much though, is despite all this stuff, which can all be rationalized and analyzed to make perfect sense, Rorschach kind of resists any solid analysis, because his character pretty much states that he has no real stated meaning, or can mean whatever you see, or whatever you want him to.

Me and Bloodpact91 were doing some co-op just now and a guy invaded us. He was absolutely invisible except for a small aura, possibly the effect from the Wolf Ring. Now, i know you can become transparent, but not fully invisible, so i was just wondering, is this possible without hacks?

I wouldn't call him a hacker. Glitches like that are rare, but you do meet an invisible person every now and then. There's nothing either of you can do about it.

Invisibles used to be really common in the forest. They can see and hit you. You can bleed and die.

I have just realized something. When discussing whether one will leave the forums or not, people have often mentioned that they generally just stick to off-topic. I always found this to be silly, and kind of stupid. I used to think to myself ''I know for sure that won't happen to me.''
Well what do you know? I was looking through my most recent posts and guess what i found?

Yea, I went back to my bed this week because I have to wake up at 5am now, everyday... This one time, I used an empty dog food bag as a sleeping bag

It's been a LONG time since I've seen that.
