There actually is sneaking in DkS. I've hearso many people in so many posts talk about stealth in DkS, how there isnt any is the most I hear. I also heard someone in an earlier post that "enemies have 360 vision" and can see you no matter what.
You CAN actually sneak up on an enemy if you just walk up behind them. As long as you start walking early enough so they dont hear your armor then they wont turn around until your close enough for a backstab, you can still pull off the backstab right as they start to turn around as along as your timing is right. So IMO that is DkS version of stealth, you just dont have the crouching animation, which I kinda like better, you look like a bad a$$ walkin up behind an enemy like its no big deal then as they turn around you put a knife in thier back.
So its not the stealth system most people are used to, but it really is possible to walk up unseen behind enemies and take them out silently.
This is my opinion on stealth. What do you guys think, am I right? is there a kind of stealth already put into DkS? or am I just over-imaginative?

The problem with Dark Souls it's that there is that stealth is not as powerful like in Demon's Souls when it comes to PvP, except for Chameleon which is an improvement, but has a flaw regarding environmental lighting which makes it almost useless in PvP against veteran people, and in PvE is doesn't have any effect. Think of Thief Ring, that thing made you completely invisible at a certain distance of your opponent.

I think that not only we need to combine the stealth tools of Demon's Souls and Dark Souls (though make Fog Ring have the same effect of Thief Ring, plus translucent effect of Fog; and revamp Chameleon so it's harder to spot in PvP, and has an use in PvE), but also Dark Souls 2 needs to make the stealth system deeper. That way it would be way more interesting to play a stealthy character in PvE and PvP.

There's definitely stealth. I have a PvP build that's entirely devoted to stealth combat. Due to the nature of invasions though, and the majority of hosts just running for the bosses if you aren't aggressive, it works better if you make yourself invasion bate by playing as human in high traffic areas. I use a combination of Chameleon, the SDC and Fog rings, Aural Decoy, and Undead Rapport. I use AD and UR to lure and take the focus off myself, then try to Chameleon/Fog ring silently in tactically advantageous places. I haven't used it in a long time, but when I was regularly I had fun with it.

I don't think you're just being overly imaginative. I use that tactic sometimes too. If you walk slowly enough to not make noise with your armor you can definitely sneak up on some enemies. The inclusion of the SDC and Fog Rings together basically do the same thing, but you don't have to move slowly. They pretty much have the same effect as the Thief's Ring, only require both ring slots to make use of, unless you want to cast one of the spells that do the same thing.

I've always used stealth as described by the OP since the start, you cant just sprint up to an enemy in full Havel and say

I even find it quite easy to sneak up on AI enemies as you don't even have to remove the noisy armor pieces, and their aggro range is pretty short.

Although in PvP the only place where i can imagine hiding would be the catacombs/totg
As for stealth, you may be able to sneak up on players with hush/SDR from behind.

I don't know who would make the claim that enemies have 360 vision. You can approach a good number of enemies from behind without them seeing you. Heck, you can even kick a few enemies without them reacting if you approach from behind.

Using the Slumbering Dragoncrest Ring and/or Ring of Fog will absolutely provide changes to your PvE experience. For example, taking the shortcut down the catacombs, wearing the slumbering dragoncrest ring will allow you to sneak up on all the bonewheel skeletons unnoticed. And the Ring of Fog will reduce the aggro range for a fair number of enemies, if not all enemies... perhaps not as drastic as the thief's ring in Demon's Souls, but it still works (quite noticeably). Enemies chasing you will also lose sight of you faster and de-aggro more easily.

edit: Just double checked the fog ring, it is quite significant. Aggro range seems to be cut in half, at least for some enemies.
