    Hi guys,
This is my first post on any wiki forum EVER.....
I've been playing Dark Souls on PS3 for over a month and am really enjoying it. I'm still on my first play through, I have all the lord vessel souls except for the 4 kings. I'm not in a hurry to finish the game yet as I want to lvl up as much as poss & kindle all bonfires etc.
A few questions.... regarding the DLC; where in the game do you access it? Is it too late in my current playthrough to access it? Will I need to wait until NG+?
My character is soul lvl 100, strength 34, dex 30 (from memory). When I'm invaded I tend to get my *** handed to me on a plate. I normally use a +5 black knight sword.
Can you give any advice on what the best light and heavy armour sets I should improve? I haven't lvl'ed up any armour or shields at all.
    Many thanks!

    first of all welcome..!!

you realy should to start investing in upgrading some armor it makes a huge difference in you're @ss being handed or you hand their @ss

Search the wiki to find the armor that fits you're play style (mid roll, fast roll, etc) dont be afraid to combine different armors

I use for example black knight leggings(fire defense) Kirk gauntlets (backstab defence) Dingy chest piece(magic defence&low weight) and iron golem headgear (poise) and it looks cool !!

And you're ready for the DLC I think so it's not to late for this playtrough

    Good Luck

Run through the duke's archives again, just in case you missed anything...*wink wink*.

Once you have an unusual object that reminds you of things... go to a dark place with lots of water... and an npc...

All of this is to access the dlc content.

Thanks for the responses guys. I don't have the kirk armour set yet, haven't come across it anywhere. I just fought the Kirk guy's phantom before the Bed of Chaos. My prefered armour would be something quite light to allow maneuverability. I've heard that the black knight sword is bad for PvP so I'm trying to figure out some other good weapons to use.

I haven't put any points into Faith since starting the game, do you think it's too late to start doing that? I have only collected a few miracles and would ultimately like to get the trophy for all of them. I thoguht I had all the pyromancies but must be missing one as I still haven't been awarded the trophy for it either.

This game is so addictive, I've enjoyed it much more than Demon's Souls. I hope they continue to release more DLC but I don't think it very likely.

What pyromancies do you have? If you want a cheat sheet, the wiki is always helpful. Have you been to the painted world of araimis yet?

    Welcome.

You can access DLC anytime after you obtain and place the Lordvessel.
To access the DLC areas themselves, you mist visit Duke's Archives.
Close to the first bonfire (just saying that so you don't have to search the whole place) you can find an item, that allows you to access DLC areas.

With this item, you shall travel to Darkroot Basin, where you may find something new, that wasn't there before, but perhaps even something missing, that used to be there.

Giving tips for PvP to a newcomer is hard, nay impossible.
From my own experience, you simply have to find your own prefered style. With your stats, you can wield almost anything, so go ahead and try it all. Don't look at stats, instead, look how much you like a certain weapon. If you like Black Knight Sword's moveset, don't mind what people say about it, just use it. You will get good enough to win most of your matches with it soon enough. You can win (both PvE and PvP fights) with just about anything, which is one of the things that makes this game so good.

    About Pyromancies...

If you've defeated Bed of Chaos, have you talked to Quelaana, the Pyromancy teacher in Blighttown? It might be worth a try.
You can also take a look for a rather poisonous treasure in the Blighttown's lowest parts.
There is also one that unleashes your hidden potential, hidden next to an enemy hugging a wall, in the higher parts of Blighttown.
Also, you may find two Pyromancies in a giant painting in Anor Londo.
If you join and give enough Humanity to Quelaag's sister, she may give you another Pyromancy you may lack.
And lastly, when you're with Quelaag's sister, you might consider befriending her servant by fighting his rather aggresive friends, near bonfire close to Ceaseless Discharge and getting to know why Blighttown has the "Blight" part in it's name.

I've been to the Painted World, I know I got at least one pyromancy there, I bought everything I could from Quelaana and got the chaos firestorm from Quelaag's sister.

DOn't Forget the pyromancy: Acid Surge from Ariamis. It's in the 'graveyard' where Jeremiah invades you. It's well hidden in the far corner to the the right when you enter the graveyard.

Don't stress, I'm ok for spoilers, just don't want to know anything about the DLC. I just got one of the pyromancies I was missing. The final one is acid surge, I'll get it later tonight.

A big reason why you're losing your fights is because of your non-upgraded armor. A few extra points into defense per upgrade might not seem like much, but when you upgrade 5 or 10 times to 5 different parts of your armor, then it really starts to add up.

Sentinel armor that you buy from the giant merchant in anor londo has one of the best defense in the game once it's fully upgraded.

Paladin Leeroy's armor is also really strong.

Another thing to keep in mind though, is that you still need to be at least a little bit quick. Aim for less than 50% weight so that you can still roll fairly well. Mix and match armor so you get high defense, but still make it with less than 50% weight. (I.e Get Sentinel armor's Torso with 100+ defense, and then the thief helmet, gloves, and legs)
