Crystal Bows are awesome...

Cool. Well, Slabs aside, I guess it's time for me to go farm them Chunks and pay a visit or two to Anor Londo.

Took a lot of arrows though (around 200 but I wasn't counting) but it's the first time I've ever used a bow against it (I'm in NG++). My tactic was to stay as far to the right as poss and get as close to it as I dared, take a shot and wait for it to retreat behind the trees and keep on taking pot luck shots through the trees. If you want to go for power at a distance, try either making it fire and using fire arrows or making it magic/enchanted (depending on your build) and using moonlight arrows. I've seen some pretty crazy results with uniform damage like that with the Composite Bow, but if you want range at the same time the Pharis Bow is going to at least do more damage than it does otherwise.

Only problem with that is that Moonlight Arrows cost tons of souls but might try. Thanks anyway.

Yeah, the fire arrows aren't super cheap either. If I do it, it's usually something I end up doing by the end of the game, when I'm almost finished leveling my toon and pulling in massive amounts of souls from PvPing. If you're not going to go fire or ML arrows, I'd recommend +14 or 15 standard with your bow and just using large arrows. Poison arrows are pretty great too depending on what you're fighting. I try to keep 100 of them or so in my inventory at all times when I'm using a bow, as opposed to a CB. All my toons have one or the other.

I blow so many souls on arrows its crazy. not to mention like half a mil on twinkle titanite

I've yet to use any crystal weapon. I've picked up a few, just never bothered to use them.

That crystal halberd you pick up helped me out a LOT on my very first play through in Anor Londo, which is a place I had particular problems with my first time through.

I actually used it down to a few durability.
