@Fotitudo practice your parrying and you'l destroy 90% of players using the murakumo, most people just spam it like a greatsword (as did I when i fist used it) but it's extremely vulnerable to parry's and roll r1s due to its long attack animations. Once I started versing players who could parry and light roll I had to abandon it until I could learn to predict movements.
And as far as the dark sword is concerned I do honestly like using it but only in that imagining your cosplay toon is actually Solare himself every time you co-op kind of way. After being shredded by darkwraiths for hours on end and finally getting the sword only to find out it went the way of the great lord's sword was just a let down to me.

Zweihander in PVE was a bit of a disappointment for me.
Any spear + Greatshield. I wouldn't mind this in regular PVP but when I'm invading someone that is using the dried finger and they just stand in a hallway to pick me off :evil: I can't stand it. I've seen it multiple times too someone will be standing there full havel or some other heavy set waiting for the phantom to come by. I've just started to black crystal out because I just don't know what to do.
Also I hate the way Smough's Hammer looks. I tried it with the whole anime girl with a big weapon look and I just couldn't do it. It just looks too ugly.

i am dissapointed by the daggers, and also by the great scythe's move set. if the great scythe had an interesting move set then i would have loved it.

^ My issue with it isn't that it's ugly per se, but that when you equip it the head blocks the camera. Not very efficient.

It's not as bad as the big head wraps, from either game, but it's pretty close. It's powerful, but the Large/Great clubs are just as viable, don't require anywhere near the stat requirements, and can be upgraded any way you want. The Grant is better too for that matter. At least IMO
I'm actually not all that impressed with a lot of the boss equipment. A couple of them are spectacular, but I think the majority are garbage.

It feels like From took the opportunity to make unique weapons look all cool and powerful but then left the stats low as an implication that it's the boss/enemy/user that makes it powerful not the weapon, we the nameless warriors benefit more from the common weapons we mold ourselves.
On that note I hate that none of the upgrade paths change the appearance of a weapon, how cool would that be? Imagine a blackened chaos weapon or a truly crystalline crystal weapon. Definite place for growth in the series.

That would be really cool. That's one of those things that as the technology of the systems increase I'm sure we'll start seeing, along with things like armor visual customization

I felt this way too until recently. I really gave them a shot, and found out that if you actually land your hits you don't stagger like that. It's only when you're swinging at air that that happens.

well then i might have to try it. i never used it after i swung it around a few times. i just let it sit in the bb. i like the gargoyle halbard alot better though. my first time playing i used it all the way till i reached O&S

I did the exact same thing. Swung it around a couple of times, decided it was awful, and just stuck it in the BB. I like most of them now. I think the only one I haven't used for an extended period of time is the Scythe, not because I think it's bad, but because if I were going to use it, why not just use the Great Scythe instead?

I like the Halberd 2-handed. One-handed, not so much. 
The Crystal Halberd did wonders for me in this playthrough. It carried my severely handicapped character through O&S and Artorias so it's served me well. It hits like a truck too.

It shouldn't be a whip, IMO. It should be rigid and used like the great scythe. A side sweep regular attack and a overhead skull splitter strong attack, just like a scorpion tail should attack.

I don't like curved swords. Sure, they're nimble, but they feel so feeble and don't seem to be all that effective in the long run. Of course, I like to be able to smash people with greatswords, so that could be the explanation.

I got Ash to trade me a Gold Tracer, and now I wish I didn't. For a curved sword, it takes a few crucial seconds to get that first swing off, which leaves you wide open to attacks. I just switched to the Abyss Greatsword and have been loving it ever since.

Curved swords are so wimpy. I think the Painting Guardian Sword is the only one worth using. Katanas are so much better.

gargoyle axe, it sucks, even with the poison/bleeding/toxic resistance boost.
gold tracer is annoying because it builds bleeding a lot and n00bs spam it.
crescent axe, for me it looked kinda cool and had a good range, but DAT DAMAGE

curved swords have some massive advantages to katanas... lighter, faster, better damage to requirements ratio AND they kick *** against no-low poise
