Healing during Duels???

Ok so recently I have had a lot of ..... hmmm how can I put this. Pu$$y a$$ m07herf#cker$ invading me. They invade , things arent going their way , so they run to an area with a bunch of mobs and heal......:x.

Personally I do not beleive in healing in duels unless the other person does first. I would rather not heal at all , I wish it wasnt even an option. You should fight and best man (or woman) wins. Especially if you are invading , you lose nothing if you die. Why are you healing?

Anyway wanted to see how the community feels about this.

At the first part of this. I am a big heavy MF so yeah I cant exactly run down a light weight little mage or dagger weilding character. At the second part I guess that is true , but sad.

I guess I respect skill and people that have some ballz , but thats just me. Out maneuver me , dont run.

In my eyes it depends on the first few seconds of the invasion.

Mainly if the invader bowed or not. If they didn't bow go crazy it's not like they're there for an honorable duel they're there to steal your humanity and make the game harder for you. If they bowed then have that honorable duel that you want and don't heal.

You can't always expect an invader to carry a code of honor and play like you would in the burg. People invade for different reasons and depending on their past gameplay with other players they might fight dirty or they might not.

Healing during a duel? Not unless it has been prearranged.

Healing during an invasion? Fair game.

Yeah. Duel implies a prearranged fight with discussed rules. So healing is all on what was arranged. Any other time, while it can be annoying, is not an issue to me.

If they're invading you it requires a spell or an item to heal. If they're using items, make a game out of seeing how many you can make them use

Now I'll say I seem to be the first to vote yes however to preface the broad answer in my opinion it's alright to use a heal spell in your average duel only because the number of things I could do to you while your in the prayer position makes me shutter.

I would even be ok with humanity healing if only twin was a full heal and the animation was about 1.5-2 times longer so it felt like it meant something. While running and hiding to heal is cowardly it also allows your opponent to do the same and I never leave home without a stack of 60+ humanity for just such an occasion.

Basically heals that leave big windows for punishment are fine although they really should be a bit longer, seriously why is great heal practically the same as heal. From should have jumped at the opportunity to make diminishing returns on time/health like everything else.

Also, there needs to be a 3rd option. Even in a duel, if you have the guts to try and heal WITH a miracle. Go for it. I'll never call anyone on that. But estus, not in my world. Also it's been said, but invasions are invasions. If someone invades me, darkmoon or redeye, unless they act as if its a duel i'll heal. If i'm partway through the lvl and they come hunt me down...i don't expect them to be wanting a fair duel. If they find me, bow, (and if im busy with mobs and they let me fight them off first) then i won't heal.

In a duel it should be no healing, however, the only place I would consider it a 'duel' is in fight club because the rules are decided beforehand. Anywhere else I consider it an invasion and even in the arena I'd say anything is fair game.

I'd say that if you're in a fight club scenario(I.E someone hosting duels in the burg or the kiln) then unless it's been agreed before hand definitely not.

Any other time, yes. Host or phantom. During an invasion I think anything goes, there is no honour. If someone's invaded your world then they're there to kill you. Not to play nice.

If a host wants to chug estus then I'm gonna stick my greatsword through his spine, if a phantom wants to flee from the fight...same solution. If for some reason you can't get the BS(Wall hugging,being a fatty roller etc) then heal yourself and you're back on even footing anyway or if it's really a problem for you then keep a DS Bow on you and fire a big spear up their backside when they run away

Ill never heal unless the following:

1) No bowing. If they just run up to u and start swinging- everything is fair game in my books.
2) Lag backstabbers. If someone is only going for backstabs, f em.
3) They heal before me.
4) If someone joins making it a 2v1 or in other words an unfair fight, ill do whatever is necessary to kill them.
5) Stunlockers. If I happen to somehow survive a stunlock from someone who is obviously just using the weapon for that purpose, ill heal for sure.

Other than that, I will never heal, and don't go for backstabs unless I dodge a heavy weapon attack and they are left open.

I went to the forest this morning to test some elemental weapon damage. Let myself get invaded. No healing. Funny too...a couple of forest hunters invaded at the same time, and were so surprised to see a lone player with no gankers that one guy backed off and watched.

I think healing is totally acceptable.

Whenever I heal during PvP I always get rage messages getting slagged off for healing. And I always reply saying, it is only unacceptable according to you and your 'rules'/etiquette.
If there was a message at the beginning of the game saying healing in PvP is not cool then fair play. But not healing in PvP/duels is a rule used by some of the community. Just because you've made that up and think's it's right doesn't mean that everyone else should follow it. They're just your values.

Duel is a Duel - Fair and square, best player wins. No healing, BS fishing, no Glitch exploration.

If i invade or someone invades me by force - Anything goes, except cheating of course.



Thats the way i play the game. If sumoned or summon for a Duel, honor is a most. If i am invading by force or getting invaded its survival of the species

I don't think that's really right, it's generally accepted that in a duel situation there's no healing. I was PvPing in the burg all last night and not one person healed. Not one. And this is the case every time I duel in the burg. So I'd say it's generally accepted by the majority of players as good manners.

But you paid your admission fee and you're welcome to do whatever you like just don't make out like there's a small part of the community that plays by an unreasonable set of rules when it's actually the minority of people that do heal in duels that are being unreasonable

It's interesting that the only method of stopping someone from healing (other than catching them in the animation) is to use Vow of Silence, and yet it's a miracle used by the same class that also heals. I wouldn't mind seeing the VoS effect offered as some sort of really expensive consumable, similar to the Lloyd's Talisman. In fact, what might make it really interesting is, if rather than just being tossed out quickly, this object had some sort of timed animation as well. That way people wouldn't just spam them at mages
