Did i just do a good thing?

So im PvP'ing in the Burg right now and i got summoned what seemed to be a Faith Spammer. When i did the ''Coming Up'' animation he ran behind me with (?) Great Club and had talisman in the other hand so i went ''Ahh shiiieeettt...'' (Obvious Backstab is Obvious )

I knew from his armor that he had NO poise so i could just Stun-Lock him to death. (Playing Tank with Chaos Claymore) He backstabbed me two times but they diden't hit due to me hiting a WoG the second he ran for my back but i still got the Animation where i got kicked and he used that time to heal.

I finaly got tierd and stun-locked him to death...SHOULD I FEEL BAD NOW?

No.

I think it's funny when people say stun-locking is cheap.

What armor were you using at the time?

No. Stunlocking is not only not cheap, it's the only way to balance slow weapons. The PTD is going to bone Greatswords over because they're so easy and predictable to dodge that being able to stunlock faster people was their chief advantage.

I was Tanking so Black Iron Chest and Head +5 and Golem Legs and Golem Gauntlets with Mid-Roll

Put me in with the "stunlocking is cool beans" crowd. What I like about stunlock is that it makes split-damage weapons legitimately viable, since your reduced damage as compared to a buffed or str/dex scaled weapon doesn't matter if you can hit the other guy four times without fearing retaliation. So an intelligence or faith build with low str/dex can compete with other builds in close combat if they use a weapon that's good for stunlock, becuase when you're dealing with stunlock, the battle becomes about who can limit their adversary more effectively rather than being about who can deal the most raw damage.

You don't need the ring of steel protection with that armor, defense points over 400 block very little damage because they hit diminishing returns. Go for the Wolf instead, you'll have unstoppable poise.

Yes, no one uses them anymore because they suck. Greatswords were good because they were fast and did solid damage, but now when 2-handed is too slow. Stunlock was secondary, the main issue with them now it's that they are too slow when 2-handed (making difficult to get stunlock at the same time), and 1-handed it's too easy to parry.

Poise it's not as important as it were pre-ptd.

WHAT I'VE LEARNED FROM THESE POSTS:
-Stun-Locking is not cheap but i still hate getting Locked.
-My armor has more Def then i tought...
-Wolf Ring Owns with my current set

I can escape stunlocks and it rarely becomes problem, but it still feels retarted to me: "LET ME SHOW MY BUILD AND SKILL BY R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R1R...." *sigh* when people still didn't know about the toggle glitch it was one of the most op things in the game.

Can't escape hammers stunlocks, unless something ninja, but I think that with lag, and at the proper distance, it's impossible to escape from a hammer stunlock (Mace, Club, Spiked Club, Pickaxe, small hammers).

The one I think you can escape from it's small axes (Battle Axe, Golem Axe, Gargolye Axe?)
