Any way to restore a character :x?

So I've been playing the game a lot lately and if you've seen my previous post I was dedicating myself to playing at low level so I could help new players and stop people from gimping newbies without a fight.

I was logging on today to play some more and I accidently hit X on my controller instead of A without knowing it would delete my character.

So.. Yeah. I'm wondering if there's any way at all to mess with the files and get that back.

Nope, he's gone . Unless you made a backup
You probably would have been able to have a backup on the PC with DSFix .

No, the memory location he was at now has a flag at the beginning.

You can retrieve it with software and know-how. If you can flip the bits back, should be ok.

I appreciate linking me to this, but have you or anyone you know used this? I'm always worried about downloading things like this because they feel like they're questionable..

The only review I could find was one that didn't feel real "Oh with this I got all my daughter's accidently deleted photos back! and.. that doesn't reassure me.

They're reputable. Same guys that make CCleaner and Defraggler, which I have both used on numerous occasions. Haven't had any reason to use this particular program, but the company is fine.

Bah, there's no other "Data" files detected and all the other things I could risk replacing are in an unrecoverable state..

Most have optoins for a file name to look for. Unsure how it's done; some games have a new character file for each character made, some it's a lump of one big file.

Unless its key to recover, I'd move on if you're not comfortable with this stuff.

I mean what I'd do, is find the characer file, make a test character, take a backup of that file, delete the character, and compare the two files to see what changed, then use a hex editor to flip it around to see if that fixes it, all the while having a backup.
