I wonder if possibly for the PC version you could set up a macro, allowing you to shield bash with just the push of a button.

I just tested it with other weapons in the off hand, all it does is execute an attack. it uses a fist weapon animation. It is a bug. And the only way to do it, is to aim with a bow, dont even need to shoot, and equip something else in the main hand.

I think I've actually done this before once or twice. It happened so fast I didn't even realize it 'till the last second. Dunno how I did it though lol.
Also, I'm on the consoles, so this isn't a PC only thing, that I'm aware of.

Yeah it's uncommon but not unheard of; there was a thread about it a couple weeks ago. I've done it a handful of times but couldn't ever replicate it. Someone else here found a way to do it on command but you had to go into the menu if I'm remembering it right. I never tried it 'cause the menu part would take the fun out of it.

I did some testing of this glitch and it does the exact same damage as a standard 1h r1 with the shield in your main hand. Likely it's just an animation they wanted to put into the game, but scrapped late in development.

I found out that all it is, is when you do this but, it uses the attack of the weapon in your left hand. Since shields have no attack when in the left hand, it steals a fist weapon animation, but not bare hand.

Looked to me like the same animation as the Black/Silver Knight's shield bash. Like Seenblack said, maybe they'd originally intended to included it as an option for the player.

It's not exactly the same, theirs is more of a close-bodied push where this is a bit more of a swing. The Crystal Shield (NOT Crystal Ring Shield) actually has this exact bashing animation as it's L2 instead of a parry.

I have done shield bash with regular shields by doing the following in the video as well. Sens Fortress was sniping the giant and upon being invaded tried to quickly switch to my shield/wep and run to him ended up doing this lol.
