Well, do i? Everyone i've seen so far is leaping all over the place like a monkey to dodge bosses, can i do it with mid roll? I don't like taking off my armour, you're not safe otherwise :x

Why? He looks easy to dodge, if i can do O&S mid rolling, i can beat him.
If all else fails, i'll just block with his own shield

Sounds like you answered your own question. If you're used to a medium roll against NG+++(or whatever) 4 Kings and others I doubt you'll have a problem with the new stuff. I think the hardest boss of the DLC for me to med. roll would be Manus, but again, if you're used to it you'll be fine.
*edit* but with a name like Shakie you really ought to be fast-rolling.

Medium roll is just fine to do everything =]. Though I still prefer light roll, my brother has medium roll and instead rocks 90+ poise which I must say helps a lot at times.

You will do fine with mid roll.
If you have a good stability shield you don't even need to roll much
while fighting Manus.

- Spoiler:
- His attacks do not consume as much stamina as they
look like they would, and you can often easily evade his grab attack by walking
backwards with your shield raised whenever you see he has started hitting his
chest in anger

Both fights are easy for medium-heavy build. I block all Artorias attacks with 32 points in stamina and hever lost any HP but be careful one of his attack can hit you directly totaly ignoring shield.. Of course i used the A. shield +5. Dont try to hit him while he is attacking. You can get under chain jump hits. He is open when recharging. It took me 4 or 5 recharging times to kill him. If you get to him fast enogh there is time for 2-3 hits.
Manus even easier especially if you summon Sif. I used only one estus flask while fighting him.
My char is in medium armor with shield of Artorias and BKS all items ascended to maximum. I am 0.5 under 50%.

Practice with midroll, you'll get used to it pretty fast if your build doesn't allow fastroll, I hear the i-frames of slower rolls have been buffed too so easier times against builds like pyromancers that caused problems before when midrolling.

The mid-roll is faster in PTDE then before, so it's more then viable to mid-roll now. The real question is if the fatroll works at all.

You can fat roll through a single attack without any trouble. You'll get hit by a subsequent strike of a combo, though. So as soon as you learn moves you will be able to fat roll like a king Rolling closer when boss hits once. Rolling away when boss is about to unleash a combo. As easy as that.

Nope you can certainly med roll. It's very viable, it'll just take some practice if your not used to it. Also, get a good shield. :face:
