Evening Forumers. I have questions of the DLC

How does the new content work with players that don't have the DLC, unless the DLC was free, i'm assuming i am at a complete tactical disadvantage?
Are these dark magics as freakily easy to dodge as they appear to be?

I don't know for certain, but it looks like you'll be put in with the new content people even if you don't own the new stuff.

As for dodging the stuff, the new Silver Pendant really works but I heard PC players say that Pursuers will still come at you no matter how much you spam your SP. It also leaves you vulnerable to a quick CSS attack as well.

As for how easy they are to straight up dodge - I have no clue. Haven't played the new stuff yet.

can they drop the new stuff for me, or will i not have a silver pendant unless i have the DLC? The pendant is a moot point if that's the case.

Yes they are easy to dodge. And while there has been no official word of your question yet, I'm pretty sure that you will be put against people with the new content even if you don't have it. You won't be able to access it, but you will be able to fight people with it. Also I'm pretty sure that if that's the method they will follow then you won't able to pickup new content items either (so DLC-players don't gift new items).

I'm not going to buy the new content, (even if it might out me at a disadvantage). I already have the PC version, and i don't feel like buying it again.
I wouldn't say that i'll be at a tactical disadvantage. I just wont have as much to choose from.
And the new dark magics aren't OP in my opinion, they just make pure mage builds more viable. The spells aren't easy to dodge, but it's not impossible either. None of the new content will outshine the old, it will be as viable as all the old stuff.

I don't know if you can drop the DLC stuff to people without the DLC, but i don't think you can.

They look insanely easy to dodge. They move at the speed of a slug, and it just looks obscenely easy to roll right through them. Unless they have a deceitfully large hitbox... it's going to be so pitiful to dodge.

they doesnt stop chasing you... ever... the only way to dodge than is to perform a front roll right in the moment they'll hit you, and you will still get 1 or 2 persuers to hit you after or before the roll the only way to dodge 100% of the persuers is to making then hit a object before they hit you

They seem to stop chasing after about 10 seconds in the vids i've seen. They look easily managed to me.
Maybe people just havn't adjusted yet.

Pursuers are easy to dodge, the problem is when you have to dodge them, 1 crystal soul spear, and 2 phantoms wearing giants' set.

But yeah they are easy, if you're invading just run away, they won't catch you if you're fast enough, also keep dodging to avoid being soul spear-ed.

You really don't know what you're talking about until you actually use or fight against someone using Dark Magic. Pursuers are the least of your worries, 40 int, bellowing ring, and Manus Cata point blank will roflstomp just about anyone.

Because as you probably already know, watching a Dark Souls video and seeing something that seems easy or hard means nothing. You need to experience it first hand, it all depends on player skill.

All of the Dark Magic is really easy to dodge, pursuers can be stamina draining but it just takes more than a single dodge. You're basically running from your life while dark beings are trying to eat your life . As for the silver pendent, Pursuers will eventually fade out, but yes it will leave you open. I use that tactic all of the time. Pursuers then run in with a CMW obby greatsword. Pretty sure, also, tht you'll be able to get the items, or see the items, even though you haven't gotten the DLC you just will not be able to enter the new areas or fight the new bosses/npcs/monsters themselves. Which makes PvP/Butterfly forest only PvPers need the DLC less unless they just really want the new content :p

Now judging on the damage, those are overpowered. Crystal Homing Soul Mass only did 1200 pre-nerf, and these do 1600, and home far better.

I forsee a damage nerf in the future.

The damage is only part of the problem. Once you fight someone with it you will understand how difficult they are to escape.

I can see how hard they are to dodge in that video. The dodging imo isn't really a problem; i had presumed they did less damage then the Crystal Versions though, which allowed them that honor. Apparently they are more broken then 1.0 soul masses.
