by BretF Thu Sep 20, 2012 1:05 pmI have been using Black Knight Sword that I got from the Knight in Undead Burg. I also have Black Knight Greatsword. I just beat Quelaag. I was wondering if it would be worth it to just keep using the Black Knight Sword or to go and find another weapon.

I have a preference for the Bastard Sword, Since it's easy to get and one of the stronger great swords, But I have heard the black knight greatsword and the Dragonking great axe are good aswell.

You should use the manserpent greatsword instead, it's better than the BKS.
Other good str weapons are : great club/large club, demon great machete and the demon great axe.

The bastard sword is good, but you need a 40/40 build to get the most of it. The MSGS is a pure str weapon.

If you ever want to add either Faith or Intelligence,grab the weapon buff.
And if you want to eat some of your victim's bones,grab the Glorious Smough's Hammer.

Doing a str-run right now, I used the BKS+5 for quite a bit, and then replaced it with the Man Serpent Great Sword once my str was high enough to out damage the BKS. I now have it at +15, and when buffed - does a stupid amount of damage, especially for a first play-through.
Damage is high, buff able, and a move set that is easy to use.

Manserpant Greatsword and Large Club are probably my personal favorite pure STR weapons.

Spurgun and the rest pretty well Covered it but yeah MS GS is just crazy when you have high STR and its buffed. Although not really pure STR ( It does require quiet a bit though) , the Black Knight Greataxe +5 is really good has a B in STR scaling. With 46 STR my total ATK is 617 , which is the same Damage output as a Demon Great Machete +14 and not nearly as slow. Plus the BK GA just looks badass , only thing is you cant buff it

msgs for sure, 99% of people that try to rol bs me with that thing end up beign stunlocked to death lol. all of that will end with the speed nerf though cause FROM has no idea how to balance their game for pvp and shouldve just left it like it was.

Black knight greataxe requires a bit much in terms of dex, but has a great r1 moveset, good damage, and the dex required will give you some back up weapons that may require dex.
The Large Club has decent damage, an amazing moveset in my opinion, and weighs not very much at all for its output. This is one you should definitely have on you.

Great Club is the best pure STR weapon as it barely weights (for its class) and has huge AR.
Otherwise you should use the Black Knight Greataxe which is crazy powerful.

It hits hard, much faster than the ones listed, Easily breaks through shields, and decent range.
Any of these weapons are good for STR builds.

Thanks for the replys everyone. Just got done with Sen's Fortress(I really REALLY hate that place). I was able to grind for the Manserpent Greatsword. I'm a little ways in Anor londo right now and it's +9 at the moment. I was planning on just using Black Knight Weapons, but I think I will try out the MSGS when I can get it past +10 and when I get the Black Knight Great Axe I will try them both out and see which one I like better.

Well I upgraded a Zweihander to Lightning Zweihander +5 till I can get the titanite slab for the Manserpent Greatsword.
