Re: Carim Gentleman`s Society
I figured spoilers were a given considering the nature of the covenant, not to mention it says spoilers in the title of the thread. Nonetheless changed.

Re: Carim Gentleman`s Society
I dont want to ruin the experience for myself. I want the game to reveal it to me in its full glory, I want to experience it myself. Not get it second hand off a thread by someone who is telling me about it.

Re: Carim Gentleman`s Society
Chester is my boy!
In anycase I have new ethnographies!
" Sixth Day of the Fourth Month after the last entry in Darkroot
Ooze as it is known by the commoners is a fascinating subject, one that has continued to fascinate me for many days now.
The slime as I have taken to calling it is a corrosive amorphous condensation of the collective residue that tends to form within the depths of the......Depths.....
This residue it attracted other slicks of residue and grows by amalagmation without other sources, I have even specualted that when a slime grows large enought it produces its own residue.
Thus I theorised the existance of parent Slimes. Slimes large enough in size to generate the numerous examples of the residue phenomena present in those rank tunnels.
However my searches proved fruitless and my supplies of tea and crumpits have began to run low... it is at these times when I feel that field work is better lefts to the serfs...however yesterday I made a startling discovery.
It seems as though the plaguerats and slimes share some form of symbiotic relationship. Using my master of disguising magics I was able to discern what my predecessors were never able to.
The key is Participant Observation my dear readers.
It seems the rats draw some type of nourishment from the Slime by feeding on it, though only when pickings are scarce. Consequently it seems that the slimes scour the Depths for all prey, devouring and rendering the area barren such as the rats have no choice but to feed on the slimes.
There are fascinating chemical processes at work her in Lordran. What the slimes dervive from this relationship was somewhat harder to speculate on. It took me many hours in concealment for the process to fully complete, however when it dawned upon me I sat in stolid silence for many hours musing upon my discovery.
Even a good draught of Brandy was not enough to curb my enthusiam, and I was sunk into a fitful sleep.
When ingested it seemed as though the slime was simly being consumed by the plaguerats but the truth was far more obscure that I could imagine. It seemed as though the slime was using the internal processes of the plaguerats as well as the rats vital essences to propagate.
On closer inspection of the dieased flesh it appeared that the weeping pustules that covered the rats flesh were infact expelling the residue that composed Ooze. In this manner the rats were able then to spread the residue to every facet of the Depths, thus allowing the Ooze to spread.
I am beset by the many possibilities this research could open up for me and will retire from the disgusting sewers in which I have created my makeshift lodgings. I am feeling a craving for sunlight now an with this in mind I feel it is appropriate to have made preparations from passage to Anor Londo.
Perhaps there are links between the appreance of demonic entities here and of those in the Demon's Ruins. For this I have enlisted the services of a Knight of most unstanding repute and skill at arms. This Solaire of Astora will be extremely useful in the aquisition of research notes."

Re: Carim Gentleman`s Society
Deschain stood up from inspecting the golem's corpse. He turned to Gilbert. "This is made of nothing I've seen before. It looks like ordinary blue rock, but its something else entirely."
"And you know your rocks." Gilbert laughed, "Any clues about it at all?"
"No-" Deschain paused. He focused on the golem, noticing the way it caught the light, the consistency of the rock. On a hunch he brought out his catalyst and summoned a crystal soulmass. He floated the mass closer to the golem. His eyes widened as he realised what the golem was truly made of. "It's magic Gil. By god Seath has made a golem from crystal."
"But how? That thing was tough, not like any crystal weapon. It was only your magic that brought it down."
"I don't know Gil. But this is exactly my area of expertise. And if I'm lucky I'll be able to duplicate it. Let's go."
Gilbert nodded and the pair ventured towards the crystal caves.

Re: Carim Gentleman`s Society
You just have to explain some sort of adventure. The only reason I do mine the way I do is because my Gentleman is a man of science and an avid explorer and anthropologist.
Its the way I make my character unique from everyone elses.
Im sure flail will just let you narrate tales of your own adventures in anyway you want

The Trek to Anor Londo
"Dear readers I write this account of the horrors I faced during my trek from the Depths to the mighty gothic spires of Anor Londo.
After packing up the camp I had set up in the Lower Cisterns I ascended via a series of hidden laders and drains, reaching the Burg outlet in a matter of hours.
I was unmolested in my travels though I did notice many new instances of Ooze as I travelled. I must resolve myself to return to these accursed tunnels if I am to compose a full ethnogrphy of the replicatory and symbiotic nature of the Depth Slimes.
In any case I arrived that the aforementioned meeting place find my new serf Oswald and several other servants milling around. In short order I had these lollygagers back in line, my time in the Empire's Expeditionary forces ensured I was capable of drilling even the most undisciplined men into line.
From there we set out toward the entry to Sen's fortress. At once I was beset by doubts.
The fortress was mighty in scale, it seemed to loom over me, cast a dark shadow.
It was here we broke for lunch. During this time we were approached by the last member of our group.
He was resplendent in his burnished iron armour, complete with the ensign of the Sun emblazoned on his tabard.
For the first time on this trying journey I feel we may have a chance of making our destination."
