    Hey, so I’m going to be testing the speeds of pyromancies for y’all.

    I’ll be updating it, adding new spells and retesting it as i get suggestions.

    I plan to cast the spell and see how quickly my character
    can backstep out of the animation. The beginning of the cast and moment I backstep
    will be tested in frames, 30 frames a second to be exact.

    Great Combustion
    .9 dex =37
    20 dex =37
    30 dex =37
    35 dex =37 (i'd like to retest this.)
    40 dex =33
    45 dex =29

    Great Chaos Fireball
    .9 dex =69
    20 dex =69
    30 dex =69
    35 dex =68
    40 dex =63
    45 dex =59

    Fire Surge
    .9 dex =27
    20 dex =27
    30 dex =27
    35 dex =27
    40 dex =27
    45 dex =27

    Fire Tempest
    .9 dex = 186
    20 dex =182
    30 dex =171
    35 dex =169

    Fire Whip

    uhhhh i was going to test the frames in intervals of 30fps and give everyone a comparisson at different dex levels..

    i can test flash sweat- but.. uhh how am i going to do that?
    not being sarcastic btw, legitimately asking the question.. ok a little sarcasm. XD

    Hmmm.. Sorry. I misunderstood your testing. I thought it was all aspects of Pyro. I was hoping for some facts on how much damage it reduces each of the pyro attacks. I pretty much ignore combustion and fire surge and have easily survived firestorm, with a lvl 30 pyro with about 600 health.

    yeah i mean, i'm not going to encounter any players doing this. this is all offline dex testing.

    if you know of a way for me to test that ability tho, i will. no probs man.

    it only really notices anything at 30, i was just going to do it intervals of base 30, 35, 40, 45..

    BUT I SHALL. i'll even one up it and add the 5's in there after 30.

    So 40-45 Dex is a significant difference?

    yes. leading up to it from 35 to 40 may have a difference, but 45 is king for gc.

    my god it looked weird tho.. it like.. starts in a frame. i think even if u goofed up a bit, u could land inside of a 40 dex cast and still be inside of their frames casting.

    alright.. i just did something i THINK the game will hate... i deleveled my character and replaced an attuned spell...

    fingers crossed, i got sloppy..

    okay it worked.. wierd glitch on startup tho. it showed me as level 37 and then changed it to 1 and the proper stats in game..

    hopefully dark souls wont freak out on the gcf test- i should of copied the original file..

    Ok something that I don't understand. The first number is the frames of the spells, minus the second number that is the frames of the backstep? It increases then it decreases...

    i hit record and then i steady my hand as much as humanly possible, after that with my right hand i hit rb (pyros in right hand) and then spam b near the end.

    the differences are due to the slightly different lengths in the videos/ me jerking around with the camera.

    i list everything so i can see for myself where it is and what not, as well as let everyone else know wtf it is i'm exactly doing so they can replicate it themselves or see my errors.

    that's why i like posting these total inner monologue threads first; it shows the work as it's happening.

    you and me both.. i'm looking at the pyro list and thinking "f*** this lets do wotg!"

    but at the same time, for me to drastically change this character like that is going to cause the game to panic. i'll have to join the way of the white and find some miracles to replace, i can't just dump them in...

    idk wtf will happen after i've edited the stats this much and just put the character into a covenant either..

    so i'm doing the pyros first while the modding holds out.

    if can just give an example, i replaced an unattuned fireball with gc, then replaced the gc that was attuned like a dumbass with gcf and like.. the game just paniced, deleted a spell and then duplicated a gc and gcf.. it acts weird.

    thanks man.. now i'm left with a decision.

    either i continue doing the length of animation to dodge.. or i go into more depth and find out the start of cast to hit.

    what's more important in your guys opinion? i personally don't care about the to hit, but if it's needed then i'll just have a part 2 for them all once i find somewhere to test it.

    yeah that surprised me.

    i think 45 is 2.47 seconds and 9 is 2.83.. so it's not massive but it's like 1/3rd of a second.

    btw i'm going to actually stop this thread at pyromancies and open a miracle thread and just update pyros here. makes life a little easier.
