Re: Halberds Good or Bad?
My Hero, I was close to his skill level, but he's just always seemed a bit out of my grasp. Once I get my timing as perfect as him, you can bet I will put an end to every ganker rather than 9/10 of the gankers I meet.

Re: Halberds Good or Bad?
I'm basically a much more aggressive version of him, but it also causes me to sometimes take too big of risks. But in essence, we are very similar hunters. Both of us are really big on pacing, as well as blind parrying the enemy. As well we use in menu switching mid fight to catch enemies off guard, as well as straight physical damage weapons as opposed to the ever constant elementals. He wears the armor of a golden knight, I wear the tights of a man that loves to fight.

Sansvie isn't the player in any of those videos, Sansvie goes to japanese websites, downloads videos there, then uploads them to youtube for the egnlish world to see.

Yep, a lot of people don't realize it though, so don't feel stupid. On San's videos, there usually isn't an explanation.

Re: Halberds Good or Bad?
The Gargoyle's Halberd is my favorite weapon, each of the halberd weapon types have something to offer (except that wayyy too heavy to be good Giant's Halberd). I feel the first strike on the Halberd is too slow to be effective, and too committing. I prefer the slashes of the Scythe and Gargoyle's Halberd (which is the same as the Scythe, except it costs 2 more STR, has more AR, and increases your base resistances by 25%, which I consider worth it). I don't really care, but find effective, the attacks of the Great Scythe and Lifehunt Scythe. They are more sweep, but more predicable too. I feel that the normal Scythe and Gargoyle's Halberd are like in between the two, and thus I prefer them, there is something great about bleeding though.
I never understood why so many people use the Black Knight Halberd, it does have the same Gargoyle's Halberd attacks I love, and its R2H1 I consider much more effective than the (already great) R2H1 of the Gargoyle's Halberd, a faster cover your body sweep, but the R2H2 is just so slow and BS me after I do it, and the AR isn't amazing and it needs stats to kinda work, plus you can't enchant it. I think it sucks too bad for that R2H1, but I see a lot of people using it.

I don't really have a favorite weapon ;L I'm decent with all weapons.

Re: Halberds Good or Bad?
The thing I don't like about G. Halberd, BKH and the Scythe is the slow as hell R1 attack. It's slow, and it can't break +31 poise when 2 handed, which means you'll get roll backstab more frequently (slow + no poise break = fail). The running R1 sucks, it's predictable, it looks so funny because the lag shows the opponent sliding lol. The roll R1 seems slow and short ranged. The way of fighting is more defensive style, which don't mix with my super aggressive style. That's why I prefer the LH and Great Scythe. Fast roll R1, fast sprinting attack (which dead angles even when locked) amd awesome 2 handed R2s combo. It's perfect in my opinion.

Re: Halberds Good or Bad?
The normal Halberd is the one that is the most effective. This is because of its thrust R1s. Thrust attacks almost always connect in PvP because of lag. I haven't used the Halberd (one of the few weapons I haven't used), but I can tell you from experience that I get my @$$ beaten and annoyed by its ridiculously powerful thrusts. If you make it 27/40, you actually have a +500 AR spear in your hands, which I have seen connect for 600 damage from a counter attack. If you don't believe me go to FC and fight with roan.

Most of my kills come from parries, though I'm very rusty, I could help you with the timing.
