has any one killed only the bosses needed to beat the game and none others

Yes actually, I've skipped all of the optional bosses and beat the game.

Optional Bosses are:

Taurus Demon: By going backwards through the Valley of the Drakes and the Darkroot Garden, you can get to the Gargoyles without killing the Taurus Demon. Gives you the added benefit of having the Burg open for PVP

Moonlight Butterfly: almost never kill it now, leaves the forest and the basin open for PVP

Capra Demon: Assuming that you have the Master Key, you can bypass the Lower Burg

Gaping Dragon: You can also bypass the depths entirely

Stray Demon: I didn't even know this guy existed until my second playthrough

Priscilla: Painted World is completely optional, you don't even need to visit the area at all

Gwyndolin: Also avoidable, but he's worth fighting for getting Sunlight Blade

Centipede Demon/Demon Firesage: If you open up the Shortcut through the Choas Servents, you never need to fight either of em.

I'm afraid you get nothing extra, but It sure is fun to be lazy =)

^Wouldn't it have been easier to name the bosses that have to be killed, rather than the ones that are optional?

Must be killed:

- Asylum Demon
- Bell Gargoyles
- Quelaag
- Iron Golem
- Smough & Ornstein
- Pinwheel
- Nito (skippable through a glitch From wouldn't have considered)
* Ceaseless: technically skipable (right?).
- Bed of Chaos (same glitch as Nito)
- Sif (can be skipped by using the BB glitch, but I strongly doubt From would have considered that)
- 4 Kings (same glitch as Nito and BoC)
- Seath (same glitch as Nito, BoC, and 4 Kings)
- Gwyn

I've never skipped Ceaseless or the glitched ones, but other than that I've often killed only the necessary ones. Nothing special happened to me... other than beating the game really fast!

Ceaseless can be skipped you need to have dwgr and thats it, you kill the demon on the other side with arrows and then roll and estus when your hp is at -1/2...
dont realy need fire resistance for it, but yes there is only 2 endings and all that when you do this and that, this and this will happen at the end is a lie

^I wasn't sure if it affected game progress or not. I remember people saying skipping Ceaseless by crossing the lava has some side-effects (now that I think about it, I think it's that you can't use the bonfire under the chaos worm, for some reason) but I've never done it so I don't know if it prevents progress.

yeh the bonfire wont be there but thats realy it there isent any super secret endings as the xbox players that looked through the game files only found the things that were taken out of the game, come to think of it what if the contence that was taken out is realy some of the things that will be in the dlc

Forgive my naivety but how can you skip Nito, Four Kings and Bed of Chaos and still get their Lord Souls? I'm particularly interested because I'm on my second playthrough. I've beaten Seath and Bed of Chaos and am in the Tomb of Giants at the mo' on my way to Nito.

There is a dangerous glitch, which I suppose I shouldn't tell you the details on here, where one avoids all the final four lord and skips the door near the Lordvessel. It is very dangerous and can corrupt your saves/save.

BTW, if you can do it as soon as you get the Lordvessel (otherwise you fall down and die) you can skip every boss other than Asylum Demon, Bell Gargoyles, Quelaag, Iron Golem, Oreos and Smores, and then Gwen right?

yea i have seen that but i have dont want to glitch it cant be from a glitch can it it should be programed in to the game by doing some type of order like talkin to some npc's in order or not talkin to them at all right could be wrong but dont think it should be by glitch.

now dont get me wrong i started this post not to find an alternet ending but to see if talkin to shiva or the other npc by running to c them w/o killin any bosses i was hopin shiva or other charcters would have new diologe by getting to them w/o killin any bosses bc most of the time ppl would have killed alot of bosses to get to them. but this was all before i had read the text dump. and also before i found out that shiva doesnt have his eye stone and that that was a troll... also i put this in one of my other posts but maby someone can shed some light on it here seeing as no one has posted to the other one but .....
does anyone know what the last part of the title to the book in the libary is the only book in he libary that i have found that is readable says "playfails ......... family antiquity" ANYONE know what that last word is it looks like its upside down or backwards i cant make it out anyone else know?

umm another thing is there any npc storylines that can be done w/o killin a boss?

If you are using the glitch to kill the 4 lords then couldn't you skip pinwheel too technically since you can get to the lordvessel area without fighting him?

Yeah, like Icefang was saying. If you do the glitch you only need to kill Asylum Demon, Bell Gargs, Quelaag, Iron Golem, O&S, then Gwyn. But I didn't reply because I didn't want to shed more light into this glitch! As a glitch, it doesn't have much potential to ruin the online portion of Dark Souls for everyone, but I just don't want to encourage people to try this and potentially corrupt their game saves.
