I f-d up, yet again!

Wishing to create a no-damage BSS that I could use to practice my Parry and Riposte technique with, this morning I decided to downgrade a +14 that I had sitting around doing nothing. Unfortunately, me being the complete and utter dipstick that I am I accidentally downgraded my prized and much loved +5 Lightning BSS :affraid:, and so was left with no other option but to pay a hasty return visit to New Londo to blag myself another slab so that I could then look to returning my precious back to it's former glory.

Talk about waste valuable playtime, I am such a knob at times! Why I didn't just farm a new BSS to begin with is anyone's guess?

you could have practiced parrying and riposting with your full upgraded BSS though?

The fully upgraded would have done a lot of damage, making it harder to practice parrying with. Instead, you could just practice over and over again on the same subject.

I personally just did a no-shield playthrough, all the way through NG+. Needless to say, I'm really good at PvE parrying now

Just practice with your fists, mate. Or an upgraded Longsword, it's similar enough to the BSS for you to get an accurate gauge.

Not really Amos seeing as that it has a tendency to cause large amounts of damage, even when the riposte window is missed. I am currently practicing on the Darkwraiths in New Londo, and so I want to do as little damage to them as I possibly can, otherwise I'm going to run out of sparring partners pretty fast.

are you trying to get good at PVP or PVE, because lag comes into play online so youd need someone to help you

Putting it simply, I'm looking to walk before I can run, as I suck in both!

pve parrying isnt really that important, enemies are predictable and you can dodge, but in PVP its a pretty nifty skill to have, if your online now ill jump on and we can have a crack?

I have a +4 Chaos BSS, but prefer my +5 Lightning one.

Gaz, are you still in NG? If that is so, while you are practicing your P & R wear 10 soft humanities and your gold serpent ring. Maybe one of the DW drops a slab for you. Or finish the siegmeyer quest to get another slab.
The other thing you could try is, using the slumbering dragon crest ring and try to farm the lizards at the big hollow and with some luck you could get a slab too. There are videos showing the lizard locations.
And if you are in NG+ just go and kill the stray demon again.

No need I got one already, it took me around sixteen run-through's of New London, I'm just mightily P'd that my own stupidity lead me to this situation to begin with! :evil:

chaos is better and looks A LOT cooler, lightning is jus...meh.

@Rant- Given that a +4 Chaos is weaker than a +5 Lightning, I am better off sticking with my +5 Lightning until I get around to upgrading my +4 Chaos. Added to which, as most armor pieces have greater fire resistance than lightning my +5 Lightning will serve me better when it comes to PvP. So !

And you're dead right Joe, at the end of the day it's all about personal preference.

Tell me about it! The problem is most of the time the game had nothing whatsoever to do with my losses, but rather a lack of judgment and/or concentration on my part, or as in this case my own outright stupidity. I can take losing if it was brought about by something in the game, but knowing that it was my own inadequacies that brought about the loss now that really grinds my gears! :evil:
