I had the ring and gave it up. I assumed it was only needed to get into a Blade of the Darkmoon.

If you used it to open up the Darkmoon Covenant then gave it up?.You will be OK you no longer need it.
Although if you gave it up before hand then you will need it,listen I will let you use it then give me it back.
I really do not need anything plus its no big deal just to open up a false door.
