lol so this is me enjoying mugenmonkey and its awesomeness. lol been playing around with that and i came out with this http://tinyurl.com/7uvd367
ok maybe its been done before or sumthing but is this a smart idea or should i just go with one rapier? i kinda like to practice parrying with the rapier although im not really good with parrying at all lol.

I don't think Velka's has any extra crit damage like the other rapiers.

@cloud i think it has the same crit as estoc cause that thing packs a punch when you riposte even with no hr, over 1k sometimes. anyway heres mine http://tinyurl.com/7x3y4g2

I just checked, and it has the regular crit damage. Still, I'd rather switching rings even if it did so I could use a more fancy ring (Like wolf ring and then equipping lighter gear)

Edit: http://tinyurl.com/7nhf9fb here's my edit on it.

it already has the dwgr + 77 poise so i dont really need the wolf ring and besides its the same anyway lol
@rantfromrant, thats an awesome buld man but i wanted to try pyromancies with mine because i have like 2 casters now and i dont really find them effective on PVP because of some reason the HSM keeps going crazy and not following the opponent lol

Why would you need that much poise anyway if you have the DWGR? Also I meant to put the demon spear, not ricard's rapier.

i guess that could work! so using the rapier for parrying is not very good idea then?

It's a bit tricky to parry with rapiers. Doable, but tricky. Also offhand pyromancy comes out at a different angle, and lets you keep a mainhand weapon ready to keep them stunlocked after staggering the target. If you take the demon spear idea, you can stagger someone with a GCF hit, and then poke-lock them while they're in the lava.

Ain't an idea, I'm speaking from forest hunter experience big grin I've killed many a ganks by just catching the host while he flasked and keeping him pinned with my DSS.

Good luck with this build. I hope it kicks as much *** as it looks like it will.

tha rapiers have fast parries so if you have tried the small shields like the heater shield you should have the timing right, i parry with my notched whip and sometimes i dual velka's. just go with whatever youre comfortable with. i love my velka's build, you can always change weapons to most of the dex based weapons which is pretty awesome.

i know but there's a hidden crit in all rapiers which is why their riposte do sumuch damage.

I don't think there are any hidden critical bonuses in rapiers at all. The only reason it has such a high critical is due to its optimized damage output (370-400) compared to most critical weapons such as the bandit's knife which has an average dps output of 250-310. Furthermore, add in its moderately high critical rating of 110 makes it produce a far more powerful critical than other weapons. In short, a weapon with a decent dps critical "multiplier" will do far much more damage than a weapon with low dps output , but on the otherhand has a large critical rating/multiplier. I mean 1.1 (crit ratings) multiplier by 300-400 will make a larger difference, than a weapon with 1.47 multiplier with 260-300 damage. Although you don't have to take my word for it and your answer may be even be 100% correct. This is just the way I interpret critical ratings.

    That's just not true.

Estoc has standard 100 crit rating, Does the same damage on a reposte as an ultra-greatsword.
