Well, the Izalith Catalyst does say in the past there were fire spells that weren't pyromancy. Makes sense that since we go to the past we might be able to learn those.

Well, all I know is that Epicnamebro said in his DLC preview that the developers were talking about fire sorceries, maybe it was dark magic? But I'm pretty sure he said fire, plus, Epic researches so much that I would take his word.

Fire sorcery is simply part of the history of Dark Souls. It was used by the witches of chaos before they lit the chaos flame. When they lit the flame they were warped and flame sorcery was lost and forgotten and replaced with pyromancy, which unlike sorcery, is derived from the being's inner flame.
Most likely the developers won't add flame sorcery.
Since we already have pyromancy.
And the only people who knew flame sorcery turned into giant spiders or teach pyromancy.
