Occult weapon help

Yep, this is still my Paladin but I just switched over to Solaire's gear for PVP cuz there's no way I'm farming every single item again. Back on topic, occult deals more damage to humans, as in invaders and PvP'ers alike right? What about divine? The GSoA says it hits harder against agents of the dark, which I'm assuming Darkwraiths and Gravelord Servants. Does that mean divine hits harder against them too or is it the NPC Darkwraiths and just skellys...

To get more to the point, the Sunlight Staight Sword doesn't cut it sometimes, so I've been looking for a weapon to actually take advantage of my faith, and I've been eyeing occult weapons. More specifically, an Occult Claymore...or an Occult Darksword. Which of these is better in your guys' opinion? If you have a better weapon in mind I'd love to hear them


EDIT: I looked on YouTube and alas, I found no video of the Darksword. Which is good and bad. Maybe it is just underused or terrible. Hopefully underused.

well Occult Claymore is an A in faith so its not a bad idea got a divine one myself got a B faith scaling probally going to switch over

It's been tested somewhere, and occult only has a bonus against "the servants of the gods" in PvE. In PvP they're practically the same, as at 50 faith they do nearly the same damage, but I still favor occult because it does more magic damage.

As for weapon choice, a lot of people like the darksword, it's good as far as straight swords go, and people can be very good with it. However, the claymore is overused for a reason, and that's because it's an excellent weapon. It's stunlocking power is really useful in PvP and it does more than enough damage with a great moveset. In the end, though, go with what you like and feel comfortable with. The game is supposed to be balanced and you can presumably use any weapon effectively in PvP.

Been using an Occult Bastard sword for ages, 50 faith, it's a beast, love the overhead swing on it, nice swift move set too!

A in faith? Are you sure about this? AFAIK every weapon, except the club, gets B scaling in faith, both divine or occult path

Yes, most straight swords too. Enchanted weapons (Occult, Magic, etc.) are always inferior to elementals unless you have +40 Int or Faith.
