Should I take off The Ring Of Favor and Protection? Empty Should I take off The Ring Of Favor and Protection?

    Post by Little-G Fri Jun 08, 2012 8:28 pm

Im on my first playthough of the game, nearing the end.
Soul level 112, have endourance of 41 and dexterity of 40.
Should I Take off The Ring of Favors? It has served me well though most of the game and loseing it might mess up my build.
On the Other hand, I now have access to nearly every item in the game. There must be a better one for me. I suppose my question is, did anyone else wear The Ring of Favor through the whole game and passed level 100?
    Thanks for any responses.

I truthfully never put on the RoFaP but that's just me. If you were to take it off, you wouldn't lose any stamina since you get the max of that at 40, but you would lose a little bit of vit and also have a slightly lower equip burden. If you can live with that, then I'd say take it off and replace it with something like the hornet's ring which will be invaluable for killing off the final boss

I still use it on the majority of my level 120 PvP builds. Unless you have a specific replacement in mine for a specific reason, I wouldn't mess with it.

You do lose stamina. Max is 160, which goes to 192 with it on.

I use it on almost all my PvP builds, though I mainly use it to save 20 SL for 30 vit/end to invest into other stats..

If you've got 40 vit/end, you don't really need it, but it still is good as it brings stamina beyond the usual max and then your equip weight and vit up a good chunk too.

I didn't know that you could increase your max stamina. It's amazing how I can still learn things about this game after so long having played it cheers

I would recommend not taking of the ring because, like serious said, 20 vit is awfully low for end game.

I wouldn't say it's low for end game, it's more low since he probably is gonna try NG+ with this character, at which point you have to say 20 vit is unacceptable. silly

I broke the FAP ring asap. I hate Lautrec for his murderous intent.

That being said, try life without it, vary your style. You get another in ng + anywho

That statement becomes a bit less cool when I say I consider Pinwheel a 'mid game' boss silly

In my opinion I <3 TROFAP (That kind of sounds odd) I usually have Havels ring and trofap on or something that fits the area I'm in or is useful to have on when fighting the area boss. Heh, I wear heavy armour, so I don't usually take off havels ring, but I add the Thunder Stoneplate ring for lightening defense. happy in Anor Londo for example.

After my first character, I'll never put that thing on again. I like to change rings a lot depending on the situation, and there are certain situations that require specific rings (4 Kings, Blighttown, etc.). It's nice to have the freedom to wear whatever is appropriate, and I've never missed the RoFaP.

Same for me, I Have only just started upgrading Vitality. One because I've got my other stats where I need them and two, I've just started PvP in the darkwoods. Realised Vit of 14 just wasn't going to cut it.
Can still level up 8 times before hitting soul level 120 and I'm all ready starting to win a few matches.
Do you think 28 Vit is enough to take off the Ring? I might be better off with the Havel's Ring or Mask of the Father.

Thanks for all the help everyone.

You can trade the xanthanous crown with snuggly for another ring of favour, so you can take it off and experiment, if it doesn't work out you still got the ring, or wait until your next play thru

Just realised I can use cloud save before taking off the ring. That way I can always go back.
    Will that work?

I finished NG yesterday with a level 1 char lol. With help, ok. And a helping phantom in the last fight is a great distraction for Gwyn.

Everyones been really helpfull. Now my only problem is the fact I dont want to beat the game! Can't wait till autumne/winter for new content.
