Build specific, but usually no. I have weapons for different enemies. Not usually going to end well if i fight a rapier or bkga with the dgm, so I swap to the large club, but its not secondary, its a fairly even split.

All my builds (except for one) has 2 weapons. But i wouldn’t call either one a backup weapon, since i use both weapons.

I dont use a backup weapon simply because i dont have any weight left to use one..
I would love to use my velka's rapier along with my MLGS though but i cant fastroll anymore if i equip it.
I also dont use a shield because of the weight issue

Ye if i meet a guy with some sick amount of poise and a Huge weapon i sometimes swap some stuff around quickly. But alot of times im fighting 1v2 and dont get a chance to do so
.Also after playing around with the talent calculator a bit i just saw that when my build is complete i could equip a heater shield and still fastroll, gonna make a +15 today quickly before i go to ng+.

Only go +14 on the Heater. You don't get any more stability for +15. Save the slab. I also use it on my builds as a sub for the Target shield. Same weight, way more stability.

Good info tnx, if it doesnt give anymore stability its just a waste of the slab lol. Not that i need the slab but still, maybe one day i want a +15weapon for cmw buff and cant make one.

That's why I stuck with it for so long. Looks awesome, and the parry animation is the best.

I also have a lot of weapons ready. But it’s mostly rings i swap when fighting.
And hotswapping is easy even in ganks, unless they are very skilled.

There's plenty of time to size up the other player and menu swap weapons/rings just during your spawn animation, especially if you set up your menus for it.

Yes,yes I do use a secondary weapon - but I am always situationally mid battle switching my primary also. eg; my FH gets summoned with Scythe and Bastard Sword +15, or WP +15. My RTSr procs or the SLB fades off of the scythe I pull a Demon Spear or something else out of my bp

Yes, that is why i also bow often in random fights. 99% bows back, and even if it isn’t a duel i can rearrange my menu during the animations.

Thanks. It’s is really useful. Especially if i am facing a bleed weapon, since all of my builds are dragons i have practically no bleed res and i can bleed from ~3 hits. It gives my time to swap to the blood bite ring.

Great move. I usually do menu swaps when I'm back pedaling through the trees. I'll keep that in mind next time spur.

i do with most builds. i have found i really like the winged spear. more so then the sks or dss, dont know why. sometimes its tuff picking between a bow,high crit weapon,or pyro glove/cat/tali ext. i do think that switching weapons too often can be a bad thing.

Virtually every one of my toons uses a backup weapon. I like to chose something with complete opposite strengths as my primary, so I can mix it up a bit. The only reason I won't have a second weapon is weight requirements.
