Estus Glitch

I was just in a close pvp against two phantoms in the forest. I killed the first one and i backed up to heal, only to see myself... i don't know ,complain like i had the wrong item equipped or been coated with loyds talisman. Backtab=Death. I know neither was the case. Is there a 2 or 3 second animation telling me i tried too fast? In a game where timing is everything this is unforgivable. Is there a way to avoid this? Cause i don't see fromsoft fixing this travesty with a patch, and thats the worst thing that could possibly happen in the middle of a pvp. I mean really?, you're gonna pause and tell me i don't have estus when i clearly do.? Thats an automatic backstab, and almost certain death. Harsh glitch.

So u did a empty estus animation, or the one that happens when the item is greyed out?

It happens. Just a matter of trying to drink it too quickly after another action. It does suck, but I find the button lag issue more peeving.

Johnny might you be talking about performing an action, or rather attempting to, only to have it go off seconds later?I thought I was the only sufferer of this infuriating glitch!

Its like trying to chew a green leaf before your bow finishes, and it looks like you're taunting, and then they attack me.

The delay is annoying :| but glitches like that and the one the evil clown have given as examples seem to happen if you try to input before another animation has finished, and the system ends up getting confused.

We are hard on the engine, poor thing.

Yeah it's what Johnny was talking about. But why show me a 2 second animation to tell me i was a half second early? It should do nothing. Or it should use the estus a soon as it can instead of using the animation as soon as it can. Do we even really need an animation to tell us something didn't work. I understand there are penalties for making mistakes, but to be penalized for nothing seems like it should be a priority to be patched. I'm glad its not only happening to me tho.

Does the animation play if you're hit by Lloyd's? Perhaps that is what happened. If I go for a quick flask too soon generally the game doesn't allow an action to be taken and I just stand there, until I do something else.

You sure you weren't hit with Lloyd's? I have been hit with it at least 50% when I am hosting.

when your hit with a Lloyd's talisman you give off or emit a greyish blue hued light smoke trail.. if you attempt to use an Estus Flask while you are effected you go through the character animation of attempting to drink, looking at your flask, shaking it, trying to drink it again and then put your arm down redraw / requip your weapon.

Or something to that effect.. in all likelyhood, you were either under the effect of Lloyd's, and either through lag, or input lag the effect showed up later.. or all your estus flasks were empty..

Coulda been a Lloyds for sure, come to think of it.

But yeah, that delay glitch sucks.
