Poor Old Solaire

I'm beginning to feel really sorry for the guy. I've summoned him three times for the Ornstein and Smough fight in new game+ and each time he's been killed before I can help him. The trouble is he just goes at it 'muck or nettles' without a thought as to his own safety and as for dodging, no chance. You have to admire his pluck though.

My real worry though is that he'll give up. Is there a limit on how many times you can summon him in one area?

Do you bring a 3rd person with you? That will leave you free to protect him abit more.
And yes he has big balls.

You can summon an NPC a countless amount of times.

The people I really feel sorry for are the Black Knights of the Kiln. Constantly respawning them just to Riposte and Backstab them in certain areas for instant kills, that life is truly hell.

i kill solaire ASAP for his gear

I can't bring myself to kill Solaire even though I love his gear.

I also love how he takes on all bosses with his face.

my end game gear for my char is crown of dusk, armor of the sun, cleric gauntlets and iron leggings
so 2 of those pieces are from him. so he must die. plus his iron bracelet is the 2nd best piece for that slot in my build.

I'd love to summon help to fight alongside us but, as I've just mentioned in another thread, I'm forced to play off-line because I don't want to be invaded at a critical point, aka just before the fog door. O.K., I know being invaded is part of the game yadda, yadda, yadda but I can do without the additional agro.

As for killing him, he's my boss but, more than that, he's my friend for heaven's sakes! Killing him just to get his armour is downright low, especially when there are so many armour sets in the game. If you can't cobble together a decent set from the stuff you can pick up, then I pity you. My BB is bulging at the seams with armour I'll never use.

As for him hitting on me. When you are a female as old as me, being 'hit on' as you put it, is a compliment.

ok seriously... killing solaire for his armor and weapon is simply lame. It is so ridiculously easy to get better armor, shield and weapons early on in the game that i simply dont see the point. It amazes me how ppl play this game without a heart and ignoring the storyline completely. Just my thought.

a little off-topic... can anyone confirm that the games ghosts are not healed by flasks? i think that is the case but not sure

If you meant the NPCs phantoms, then no, flask does not heal them

It was a homophobic comment. I didn't rate it down because I realize your intent wasn't to be discriminatory, but that's what the result was anyways, so someone took offense. So heads up: homophobic comments are not cool.

I will concede that I've seen a few of your posts get voted down pretty harshly. They were generally poor comments, but not something I would consider worth voting down...

I didn't intend for it to be lol. I just thought it was funny his dialogue makes it seem like he's hitting on you. I've let homosexuals slap me on the butt and took no offense, I'm hardly homophobic lol. *Cough* maybe that was too much info.

He makes a move whatever sex your character is. I think he just admires you for being something he aspires to be.
