Summoning problems

Ok, So this guy messaged me to ask for help in New Londo and I agreed since we were both level 90. I put my sign down and we were seeing the same messages but he couldn't see my sign AFTER TWO HOURS.

We tried summoning in other places and still no success. We also live pretty close so distance isn't the problem. The only thing that I can think of is that he might be on NG+ instead of NG like my character(haven't asked him yet) would that make a difference though?

If anyone has any ideas please respond.

You can only summon in New Londo once you've drained it, so if he hadn't done that yet, he wouldn't see your sign. Otherwise that's a really long time to wait to connect.

Funny! I actually made a good xbox friend while waiting to be summoned by him for 4 Kings. I kept getting summoned by someone else before he could get me, so we had a nice chat. Dark Souls brings people together!

By the by, you can get summoned into a different NG than your own. I've been summoned into NG+ as lvl 65, and I did it to a few people going through S&O at NG+ at lvl 76. Seriously took me like 10 times WITH two people in order to get it done, and that was after around 47 tries? (I counted my deaths in anor londo after getting to the bonfire. 57 deaths. Mostly S&O, but a few by mobs). It was my no shield character. I could actually get Lightning Smough fairly reliably. I would just dodge him 20 times and try to get him with fireballs, but he'd just keep doing that charge, and blocking my fireballs with that big freaking hammer....

Anyway, it only matters about the lvl, not the NG.
