Peddler Princes sponsored Tournament event organization thread

Here goes. Berkut came up with a hell of an idea (three actually) for a Peddler Princes covenant led festival of sorts. We plan to have item exchange events but I think we should be ok organizing those.

As berkut mentioned, no festival is complete without violent entertainment. As part of our peddlin' ways we hope to sponsor a duel tournament and have the fights recorded to display during our festival. My goal is to have at least a bracket of 8 fighters but more would be nice of course.

So what do we need?

Volunteers to fight naturally. I would imagine SL120 will be the default and biggest draw but I am open to other soul level ranges and if there's enough interest I am DEFINITELY peachy keen on more than one division based on different soul levels. If people want some fun we could even do starting gear/level fights.

If anyone is interested in fighting leave me a message here or pm and I will add a list to this thread and we can sort out divisions etc. afterwards. To sweeten the idea, the Peddlers will be sponsoring by giving a medal (bronze, silver, gold) to the top three fighters as well as other prizes.

Ok......so what else do we need? Hosts for the fights. To be a host we'll require that the fights can be recorded. The tournament itself can be spread out over time or done all in one night and the videos then posted during the festival days (hoping for early June). The hosts for the final matches will also need to be able to connect with a peddler or two to be handed the victory prizes.

Feel free to ask any questions too. For example....what rules will we be using? I would like to suggest either the standard Fight Club rules or we can freestyle and allow fighters to work it out before the fight and have a grievance system in place in case on person accuses the other of breaking the rules.

Rules

After deliberation amongst participants the rules for this tournament are:
-Both participants must bow before the match begins. The victor must bow afterwards. Bow, Proper bow and prostration are acceptable
-No tactic/move/spell is specifically prohibited from combat. However, in the interest of exciting battles: spamming spells or backstabs will not be acceptable
-No healing

For further sake of exciting fights the following is applicable to this tournament:
Prior to a scheduled fight, both participants can agree to an alternate set of rules without limitation with the exception that there must be criteria to determine a victor. It is recommended that the host is alerted to the agreed upon alternate rules.

Examples of alterations:
-Each participant is allowed to heal once
-WoG spam off
-Fisticuffs only
-Archery contest
-Whatever you like!

I shall fight...may be able to host as im working on a new 120(90somethin gettin there) thats about to enter NG+...when i get back to it im also trying to make a 225 out of my current 120...it seems to take a minute.

SL 120. Also when is this? You could get it to coincide with the upcoming war. The Noble Knights would like a sponsor. Plenty of free entertainment there.

I'd like to shoot for early June but I kinda of like the idea of doing the tournament ahead of the peddling event and releasing a set number of fights per day until the conclusion.

Well the war is the 2nd of June. It could act as your opening event?

That's just about perfect for what I was thinking. If we can get the fights on video before then I'd be ecstatic. We'll need a lot of help though. Our goal is to try and get as much of the forum involved as possible

I'd love to join, but I'm on Xbox, don't have a dedicated duel character (could do 225, I guess), and I'm going to be faffing around on vacation on from June 8th.

If none of these matter, count me in! I could duel Broke and Yog if they're interested.

Eki, we could always try again or have exhibitions against others too. I think in general the more people the better and we can try to figure out how to get the most people involved as possible once we have all interested parties

Miss a fight festival? Never . . . unless real life forces my hand. Put me down. Once a date is nailed down for sure, I can let you know if something has been scheduled for me that day.

No official date yet but I am leaning toward having the fights in may possibly and then posting videos and results during the festival in June. Everything depends on who's in and availability though

Sounds good. I won't be able to make the 225 now, I'm 228 to get my faith to 50, but whatever I guess. If anyone is around my level I'd love to.

I'll fight (have no means to record) I may be lower then 120 but ill be close enough to see a 120's RSS.

You can RSS with anyone at the same level or higher than you. Rant was at our 225 FC with his toon in the low 100's.

Federally.....I listed you at 120 just to keep the "classes" clean as I don't think anyone would scoff at you coming in at a little under.

Quarik......not sure how many people would be too worried about the extra 3 levels but worst case scenario we can get you an exhibition. You mentioned Broke and I know he has a good recording setup so even if he gets it from his angle that would be cool to see. Hopefully we can get everyone involved to some degree.
