When does BS'ing cross the line? Empty When does BS'ing cross the line?

Post by Dubscythe Sat May 19, 2012 9:31 am

I can understand the hate behind BS fishing, and I'm certainly someone who wouldn't take part in it. However, if someone decides to try and lunging attack me with a heavy weapon I have no quarrel getting behind them and backstabbing.

Would that still be crossing the line? Would taking advantage of an opening be considered dishonorable?

To me, the only thing I truly thinkis bad is BS while bowing, or chain BS, everything else like BS fishing and taking advantage of openings is simply battle tactics to me. (even if some of those tactics are immensely boring to come up against)

The only time I will ever BS is when you give me an opening, I will not strafe in circles trying to get behind you and entire match, or try and take advantage of lag to BS.

I just wanted other people's opinions on the matter.

Imo the bs is punishment for letting the enemy get behind you. If your opponent makes a mistake and leaves himself open it is on them not you.

That's what ends up happening when I do BS, I use my Straight Sword because people seem to think they'll catch my high mobility with a lunging attack. I'm not nearly as mobile with my Demon Spear.

Another point is that I refuse to use the Hornet's Ring.

I gave my opinion, I don't understand why you put this post silly

But I agree with the whole big weapon BS, it's a bit silly really as large weapons get a better BS when it would probably be more difficult to do so really, but that's FROM's decision to make after all.

I don't BS fish or use hornets ring, I do punish mistakes and use lag to BS (though I'm sure you guys understand saying it means nothing as EVERY BS takes advantage of lag, bar none.)

In retrospect I don't know why I posted that either.

It made sense at the time though, I swear.

It was obviously the voices. I usually just pretend they're not there, it's happier that way. silly

Ah yes, the voices. The same ones that tell me to punch babies when I run into a turtler.

    Chain BSing

Its just ridiculous when you BS someone, and then you roll 5 times, but sundently you're teleported back and the guy backstabs you with hornets ring.

Or when they backstab you, and you get up and roll but you teleported back and they backstab again

Seriously everyone who knows how to chain backstabs are ridiculous people who can't play fair in any way.

I played Demons Souls again, and the BS window in that is insane! People complain they need to be removed and shtuff, but it is muuch better than DS.

And I love BS fishers, you can just walk into them and BS them instead lol

subjective. i have no problem with bsing. at all, ever. i have problems with lag (and some of its complications on otherwise fine things like thrust weapons) and idiots. so no it doesn't cross the line, but you should form you're own opinions and not be sheparded by others approval. mine included.

Also realism is a rediculous arguement. YOU CAN USE MAGIC. Reality in dks is different then ours and it works there. if you want realism go join a fencing school. I'll tolerate your beliefs but i wont tolerate faulty logic. You dont even have to justify your belief, just say thats how you feel, dont mask it using that hogwash as a reason.
