Rarest weapon in the game!

This could be true. I've noticed that in 1.05 most of non-respawnable enemies have guaranteed drops, when you kill the last one of them, for example - getting the Sack from the second Butcher in Depths, getting a Skull Lantern from the last Necromancer in Catacombs, Fang Boar Helm from the second boar at the beginning of Duke's etc.

As for the Titanites in Sen's - I'll check it today, I've got a character that has all four of them still alive.

Don't forget the Gargoyles. By the time you kill the second one in Anor Londo you're guaranteed to have the Helm, Shield, and Halberd.

True, true, I've forgot about them.

EDIT: Forgot another one - Symbol of Avarice obtained after killing the last mimic, doesn't matter which one it'll be.

As for T-Catchpole - this one seems a bit different... Like I said before, I went to kill T-Demons in Sen's, actually they were the last ones in my current playthrough (excluding the one in Lost Izalith which respawns, so I presume he doesn't count). I've obtained the Catchpoles from the one directly below Logan's cage and he was the second to last I've killed.

So after all I'm not sure if it's a guaranteed drop or I was extremely lucky getting one in each four playthroughs

I just tried this last night too, definitely didn't get a catch pole. It holds with the Gargoyles as well. I've done 6 play throughs now and I've only ever gotten the Gargoyle Shield twice.

I really think it's all just a matter of luck. The more of something you kill the higher statistical chance that you're going to get one of it's drops. For example the last time I did the Depths I actually got Sacks from both the Butchers. I think it's all luck. The Sack just isn't as rare a drop as the other stuff.

Well, if it's only a matter of luck then I'm reeaaaaally lucky to get those few rare (or not so rare) items in every of my 4 playthroughs

My last though would lead to version differences. Maybe in EU Dark Souls (BLES 01402) these have guaranteed drops ? Who knows...

PlasticandRage - I presume you're playing the NA version ?

EDIT - Oh, and are you playing with patch 1.05 ?

That's an interesting theory. Yeah, I am playing NA version. It's already been proven here that there are subtle differences between them hasn't it?

I have gotten the Ghost Blade on both of my characters in a relatively short amount of time. The one weapon I can never seem to get is that Man-Serpent Greatsword.

Depending on your platform and SL I might be able to remedy that for you.

It's fine, I want to be able to legitimately retrieve every weapon I want in this game. Same with armor, souls, items, and humanity. The one thing that I do lack is upgrade stones.

IMO that's a praiseworthy perspective. If you're asking for a trade for materials that's also something I may be able to help out with, again depending on platform and SL, and I wouldn't be able to do it until later. I'm procrastinating right now by being here. I have a 7 page paper due tomorrow that I haven't started yet.
