Am I correct in assuming that the Firelink firekeeper doesn't get bumped off and you don't have to fight him and his mates in Anor Londo. I'm asking because I forgot all about him and am pondering whether to go back and let him out. If the only reason for freeing him is to get his armour then I think I'll pass on this playthrough.

He just gets out anyway, his cell door stays closed but he gets out. Just as the Pardoner from Carim, the same country as Lautrec, appears in the bell tower. Conspiracy much?

I allways kill him asap. Having a dead firelink bonfire is a huge pain.

once hes at firelink he's easy to kill, two kicks thats it, then reload your game and his stuff (ring+humanity) will be where he was.

Pius, if you kill him, you get some decent humanity (5), made even better because humanity is hard to come by at early levels.

I remembered why I didn't let him out. It's because when I went to the cell the door wouldn't open and anyway he wasn't in it. He didn't appear at the Firelink either. I've been back to check the cell. It's still locked and he still isn't there. What's strange though is that I've somehow acquired the Ring of Favour. Maybe one of those rabid hollows killed him.

If think theres still a few glitches about him. If you look at his wiki page down the bottom someone reports a weird happening where he never sees Lautrec but his firekeeper dies.

It should also be noted that you only get his armor if you hunt him down later in Anor Londo or am I wrong?
