Progress without leveling up

So, I decided to start a new game to see how far I could get keeping my level as low as possible. I started out as a Warrior, and only leveled my strength up so I could use the Drake Sword (from 13 to 16). So..I am currently a level 7, and just got to the bonfire at the top of Sen's Fortress. The downside is that I think I may have a hard time finding anyone via Summons..the plus side, is that I haven't had any unwanted invasions since the Burgh.

Anyone else have any experiences doing this? Thoughts?

Did it with lvl 1.

You stop seeing signs after the undead burg, and it soon becomes mighty lonely. It really isn't super hard though, I wouldn't have suggested even upgrading your strength for the drake sword, because you will most likely ending up having to use one of the starting weapons fully upgraded.

On not being invade, as long as you keep your character under 40 you have a very low chance of being invaded, under 20 there is basically none.

Very cool. My intention didn't really start out to be 'zero levling', just to keep it as low as possible. Thinking I'll probably have to bump it up here soon, because you're right...it's getting mighty lonely. I like helping others with the bosses..not likely to get summonsed much unless I head back to the parish!

it'll be easy as long as you dont level up your vit, the more vit you have the harder the enemies will hit.

Is that true? I didn't realize there was any coloration between your stats and the enemies at all.

I want to do that too, very cool on your part, but are you using OP gear or upgrading as you play the game if u know what I mean?

yep, not sure who did tests but they posted their videos on youtube and posted the link here, might have been mildred but again, not sure.

There are guys who do the game with an SL1 Pyromancer. Level itself doesn't seem to matter, however with a character with that low level, your low Vit is gonna mean you need to get real good at dodging, real soon.

Yeah, that's what I've found, one or two hits, and I'm dead. I'm not THAT good of a player, so this may end really soon. Just made it to Anor Londo. And I have been upgrading weapons/armor, just not SL.

I've finished the game at SL8 and then leveled up intelligence a couple of points because I thought it would make my pyro spells stronger. The glove says it boosts with Intelligence.

Depending on the time of the day (I usually play early in the morning) you can find help at low levels. Finding two humans against the Four Kings is a hassle, but you shouldn't have a problem anywhere else.

Once you get bored, try NG+. You won't be bored.

Depnding on your equipment, my SL8 was a stronger fighter than my SL25 guy. Upgrade your armor. The Gargoyle Halbred is an excellent weapon to upgrade. So is a Heavy Crossbow.

I got to the tite demon by andre as a sl5 thief. When 20 of my knife+3 two handed hits didn't make a visible dent in his health, I quit. I might do a playthrough as a hunter, I've never tried that and bows are cool.

The glove's pyro doesn't scale with Int. Its punch does. To get your pyro stronger, upgrade the glove.

i did a run with the game using pyromancy and the caestus capping myself at 25...until i got to four kings

I made it to Ornstein and Smough as a level 7, then had to level up to get help. I'm not as skilled as some of you guys...no way I had the patience to battle that duo solo at such a low level.
