Great Scythe.. Normal +15 or Chaos +5?

I'm going for 45 Dex, so I will be doing 480 pure phys damage at Normal +15. But with Chaos I will do 263 phys and 304 Fire damage (567 total). Which one is better? I'm towards the Normal because I could buff it with resins (no magic buffs). Anyway the elemental damage the Chaos does may be helpful against guys who turtle, because it could do like 60 damage per hit when blocked.

You nailed it, +15 and buff. I have similar dex and almost 40 str. Not a pvp build. 500 base with applicable buffs added can top 800

My question is guided for PvP also, and remember I don't have any buffs from magic or faith. I just have resins. It's that enough?

Raw is mid tier upgrade path. It only requires Large titanite. You never reach titanite Chunks. It does way less damage. That resumes it.

For PvP = +15 all the way.

i meant raw as in +15, damn yo monster hunter!(actually mosnter hunter taught me to always go with raw power and not elemental power)

Resins and +15 will still outperform chaos in my experience.

I'd go with both!

I have a +15 with 40-50 (i can't recall, I think 50) Dex, does great even without buffs.

Yarxov is right.....you can never have too many Scythes

You should stick with +15 because it still scales with your dex and if you if you read our earlier thread it is common consensus that physical damage will go thorough one defense magic will have to go through two defenses

My main guy has a Great Scythe maxed out in every path except Raw and Crystal, and unless I'm in the Catacombs the only one I use anymore is the +15. It's probably a good thing you don't have the Sunlight Blade buff, with it the GS+15 is far and away the most OP weapon I've come across.

I use that buff in the forest and also find that combo to be quite effective. Poison resin just plain looks terrifying.

The problem it's that the Great Scythe it's unique, you only get one per playthrough. I'm far from NG+ yet.

If you only have the one +15 is more versatile.
