Siegmeyer of Catarina won't appear

Hi, i am on NG+ and i am having a problem with siegmeyer, he didn't appear in anor londo and i have speaked with him in the gate to sen's fortress and inside sen's fortress, but he wont appear in anor londo, i tried to die, quit, reset the game and nothing, did i miss something?? in sen's fortress a serpent monster hit him once but the dialogue didn't change, what should i do??

I had the same thing happen to me too. I spoke with him appropriately but never turned the rolling ball trap once I reached the top of the stairs in Sen's. I just kept going through to get to Anor Londo. I think you need to move the trap mechanism so he has a way up the ramp.

i just tried that but it didn't work, when i passed through sen's fortress i didn't turn the ball trap, but the ball was in the staricase and not outside where he is, i went to sen's fortress and tuned the trap to the hole where you get the cage key, after that i talked to him but the dialog was the same, then i went back to anor londo and he still isn't there, i don't care about the ring he gives to me, i already have one and never used it, but i am afraid i can't continue his quest if i beat the boss in anor londo.

Weird. Hope you didn't break his story somehow. Not to be condescending but because I have been guilty of this....After you went back and switched the trap did you quit/reload or visit a bonfire before trying to find him again?

I've looked around a bit, the one thing I can suggest is turn the wheel out the back then rest at the bonfire. Other than that I can't seem to tell what's going on, practically everyone is saying that is suppose to do it.

it doesen't matter anymore, i just killed smought and ornstein, i don't really need a titanite slab but one more wouldn't hurt hehe, oh well.

I dont think killing Orn and Smough stops his story arc, I had this exact thing happen to me, only I didnt notice until I got to lost izalith and he wasnt standing over the pit of octo...things.

I had to go back to some of his first encounters and play through them, I think the bonfire thing will work if you havent tried it already, and he will show up in anor londo after you have cleared the area anyway. Just pick at it some and eventually his story should get back on track

I managed to bring him to anor londo and continue his quest, but now i have a new problem, in my first playtrought i killed all the monsters except for one in lost izalith, then i asked for his help and killed the last, but he was in the poison area, i quit the game and when i loaded he was still there, and when i went to ash lake he was dead, i recieved the slab but i couldnt get his ring, how can i assure that he survives after lost izalith??

He has to take very minmal damage after jumping into the pit to kill the octo guys, otherwise his plot ends with him dead.

I don't know if anyone has specifics, every time I try he gets killed some how lol.

He didnt take any damage, i killed the monster before he was able to attack him, but it seems that he takes damage from the poison, that's why he dies in ash lake, i tried to quit and reload but he is still there in the poison.

I jumped in after him right after him. We killed octos but in the midst of him thanking me I died from poison. When I came back for my souls I foubd the ring and humanity, I cant remember how many. Hope that helps.

this quest is starting to piss me off, i accidentally killed all the monsters in the poison and they don't respawn, now there is only one in the stairs on the left side of the room, does that one counts too?? or i lost the slab??

the slab is lost you need to leave one of the ones in the pit alive, not counting that one just outside of the pit. it is a pain to get his quest right.

If he dies and you get the thunderplate ring there it means you missed the plate.

I think it depends on his dialoge after you kill the octo-guys I have never gotten him to live but I know if he says something like "huff huff I am getting to old for this" then he will not be around when you get to ash lake

i talked to him and he gave me the ring, i lost the slab but i already have 3 so no problem.

I've wondered if the issue is talking to his daughter twice, did you happen to do that in one of the instances where he died in Ash Lake? Otherwise I wonder if it's even possible to get a slab without him dying.

yes, i talked to her two times and answered yes both times, the first in dukes archives after you release her and in firelink shrine after the crystal cave, then after lost izalith i went to ash lake and he was dead, this was in my first playtrough, i also think he will die every time you get the slab, the wiki says that you need to quit or use homeward for him not to die by the poison, but he died even after i quit the game in lost izalith, i think the only way you can "save" him is if you killed all the monster, otherwise he is going to die, just like all the other character that you helped but ended dead, like logan, rhea, logan's pupile just to name a few.

I've never done his story arc to completion--so many things can go wrong. On my first playthrough I was very thorough and managed to get him all the way to Lost Izalith, at which point I was too slow to help him kill the Blub-Blubs and he died. And in every other playthrough since, in Anor Londo I never go the long way to O&S, I just jump the stairs and go straight for the shortcut, so to hell with his storyline.

So I never bothered trying again until today. So you're not supposed to kill all the blub-blubs without him in Lost Izalith? I just sniped them all with Soul Arrows from the top before talking to him, then he gave me the stoneplate ring and I never saw him again.

Also, I couldn't get Sieglinde to appear this time.

So many things can go wrong... I just never bother with it.

Sorry, I forgot the other instances, I mean when you go talk to her the last time after you have saved Siegmeyer in Ilzalith. There is a note about when she says something about killing him again he will always die, and when I did it my last playthrough he was literally at 100% health was taking no poison damage, and my first conversation with her seemed like everything was ok. Deciding to push my luck I talked with her again and she brought up the killing him again bit and he ended up dead.

Here's my sad tale.

I did everything I was supposed to do, up to rescuing her from inside the golem. I then went back to Firelink Shrine, and spoke with her ... twice. Why? Well, because that's what you do in Dark Souls. Whenever you see someone, you keep talking to them until the text no longer changes. Apparently, I was supposed to somehow know that for this one NPC, you can only talk once (grumble grumble bad game design).

Anyway, went I went to Lost Izalith and to the pit, there was no Seigmeyer. I tried reloading the game, sitting at a fire, going to another level and coming back ... nothing. And they didn't show up at Ash Lake either.

Poopy pants.

Dark Souls is a great game, but this storyline blows. Whether it's due to glitches and / or poor design, I'm irritated. Aside from reading the forums, I don't think there's any reasonable way for someone to intuit that you should only talk to her once or ruin the whole mission.

Did you check for him in blight town swamp? After siglinda moves to firelink he is usually in the swamp

Yup, I am a giant tool. I come on here and rant against the game and it turns out that I forgot to visit Blighttown.

He was there and I talked to him, and then he appeared in Lost Izalith.

Here's a strange thing that happened tho: I killed all the chaos dudes directly below the hole until there was only one left with very little health. I then spoke with Siegmeyer a few times and he said that he was going to fight the chaos dude for me. He then spoke his chant and ... did nothing. He just stood there. I couldn't even talk to him.

So I quit the game, reloaded, and then he attacked. He managed to survive, but I haven't done the Ash Lake part, so I am not sure if he will end up alive or dead in the final scene.

ANYWAY, one good thing out of all of this: Even though I spoke with Sieglinde twice (an apparent error), I was able to complete the Blighttown and Lost Izalith segment. I then went back to Firelink and Sieglinde was there to thank me. I'll let you guys know what the final result is when I visit Ash Lake later. So far, it doesn't seem like talking to her twice has ruined much.

Has anyone ever actually gotten the slab AND kept him alive? I've given up trying. I'm about to the point of calling it a myth, or maybe it was somehow affected by a patch?

No problem mate, I did the exact same thing thats why I posted haha.

The first time I did it I said the wrong thing to his daughter, she left so his plot line ended, the next time he died fighting the octoguys. The third time I couldn't seem to find him lo-and-behold he was in blightown.. but he got picked up and raped by one of the octo demons.. and there was ONLY ONE ... uhg. But someday he will live!

I have tried on about 6 different playthroughs.

gotten the slab every time, but never been able to make him live. Honestly, I do think it is a myth.

For what it's worth, I killed all of the Chaos guys except for one, and that one had the barest sliver of health. You could barely see it.

After Siegmeyer jumped into the pit, I immediately followed, and when I landed, the Chaos guy had already picked up Siegmeyer and was munching on him, doing all kinds of damage.

I am not sure how I could have possibly done more to keep his health up.

I still have yet to go to Ash Lake, but my bet is that he will be dead.
