Best weapon upgrade strength/endurance build

Hi guys, I have a strong strength/endurance based melee fighter. I have the drake sword up to 220 damage, which seems pretty high to me. What would be the best weapon upgrade type that could compete with that (fire, chaos, lightning, etc)?

Doing a basic upgrade up to +15 using a good STR scaling weapon such as man serpent greatsword, demons great axe, demons great machete and great club are good examples

Though a +4/5 lightning Zweihander would be good backup with a strength build.

Honestly drake sword is awesome early game, but by the time you hit Sen's fortress or Anor londo, get yourself a more useful weapon i say

oh and 220 is not high once you get further than 2 bells section of the game.

In Sen fortress get the lightning spear and in anor londo get the crystal halberd. Use them to get the weapons Serious Much said above, then upgrade them normal path, no elementals

well serious pretty much listed the best weapons for a str build, check out the demon great machete if you like ultra greatswords, its my personal fave.

Don't forget the bkga :p

the bkga is good in early levels but at 40 the demon greeat machete is better, i hate it when people go into a duel with the bkga thinking theyre gonna win cause its the best, it has the best one handed r1 but thats about it, ive yet to get killed by a bkga on my machete build.

I mostly just like its speed, only have used it with one char. Sucks u can't buff it though.

i dont get why people say its overpowered, it has the best r1 move but thats it, you cant buff it, it has a B on str but after the patch they made all the bk weapons a little stronger just to piss people off i think, do you know if the it getter an A in str or its the same?

i think for weight to damage ratio man-serpent is one of the best str weapons

with a decent moveset as well

yeah, it has an A on str and has great moves.

I use bkga only. For my build its the best weapon 620 pure damage. I usually 2 hand the weapon in pvp. Dont care about buffs as there is no time for it in pvp in most cases. I had tried other weapons mentioned here, they where useless in pvp. 2 handed bkga stuns every one, once u got a chance to hit. It takes practise to fight with it as well, lost many times before i got to know how to use it efectively.
One handed is good for all the Bs when u need to defend and wait for hit or for grups like 2 or 3 when u can swing very wide and kill 2 at the same time:) The only thing is that if u know how to parry and can stand 2 - 3 hits min 1500 health , then im dead or use katanas and bs me

they're very overrated but they're made to strenght builds

specially the axe...

Demon Greataxe scales S at +15, its mandatory for strength builds.

get a freaking demon machete

it doesnt stunlock everyone, specially if you get those people with mask of the father and either giant's or havel's armor. overall its a very good weapon but not the strongest, i sed it for a while but ended up going with the machete, it takes practice but it can rape anyone with one shot if you have sunlight blade with a riposte.

You be dead in PVP before you will swing even once : ) Or they parry you and you dead any way. Its to slow ! I fought with a guy today, he had zweihandler, not even once he was able to hit me in 3 battles. And its much faster then DGM.

I hate magic Well, guys with a full armor are always pain, but you don't meet them that often at 130 or above level. Once they realize that speed is also the factor they start using lighter armor. Never met anyone with a machete I wish I can see you killing me heheh;)

ultra greatswords and great axes are the easiest ones to parry, specially the bkga, people dont do it cause they dont wanna risk it, specially with the lag, i gave up on parying in pvp cause of the freaking lag, the only one i have a problem with the the bkgs, zwei and machete have the same speed or slowness whichever you wanna use, i never use the wide arc attack or i would get backstabbed every time, btw the one handed r1 attack is so easy to parry cause it has the pause before actually swinging that makes it so easy.

You are right about parring. Thats why you need to keep distance and don't get to close. Every weapon req. precise to use. I m not saying I have mastered the BKGA but I know how to use it for sure:) Plus every one has a different play style. BKGA fits me best.

yeah, everyone has their own fave weapon, i have two, the demon great machete and manserpent gs, it also depends on your style. btw the demon axe is really hard to use in pvp very little reach and every attack leaves you open for a bs. its awesome for pve though.

Whoa guys don't rush he uses the drake sword, let him breath and then think about end game equipment. I would say the lightning Zwei for PVE until you get a good scaling weapon later on

yep, if youre using the drake sword, get a lightning zwei or claymore. id go with the manserpent greatsword and take it up to +15, it has an A on str and it will serve you well for pve and pvp for a long time.
