Re: Moonlight Greatsword
40 int doesn't seem like it would take full advantage of the S scaling :|
I'd suggest 50 int, but I've not used it extensively enough to really have too strong of an opinion

^good point
I mentioned 40 because I use it only for backup, my main is one Enchnaced Estoc, so I didnt needed 50 INT

Re: Moonlight Greatsword
Int 40 AR~ 472
Int 50 AR~ 480
Not worth the extra 10 points just for the increased AR. But, if you want magic/CMW, then 50 is a good number.

Re: Moonlight Greatsword
Well I would think a build around Moonlight Gsword would be magic heavy so I think I'm gonna go with 50 intelligence, but I still haven't really gotten a clear answer -_-

Re: Moonlight Greatsword
I use it with my sorceress I leave at New Londo for Kings co-op. I have 50 intel (and 16 str) and when I run in and 2-hand on a king it does about 460 per hit, I think. Not bad. I don't like it too much for overall use because I usually like quicker swords with higher crit hit. Still, it's kind of fun to watch my little mage lug the massive thing around. One host messaged me, "What the hell sword is THAT???"

Re: Moonlight Greatsword
i would got 50 vit,16 att,40 end,16str,50 int(mage starting class leaving the rest at base) you could also sacrifice vit, end,or int for added dex if your planning on using spells(it increases cast time). then maybe dwgr and rofap or anything you prefer.

Re: Moonlight Greatsword
also i agree with reim that if you are doing this build only for moonlight gs 40 int is a good place to stop.

Re: Moonlight Greatsword
40 end is a must, 40 vit, Int depends on whether you want to use spells. You need 44 for CSS and 50 for WDB, also 50 if you want to use other weapons and get the most out of CMW. Otherwise 40 would be alright, the damage difference is pretty minor between 40 and 50 for the MLGS. You need to be more specific if you want a more solid answer regarding your build.

Re: Moonlight Greatsword
Didn't realize your build was done lol. I contemplated 28 faith just for WoG on my Int build at one point but I think the 20 points would fare better elsewhere.
Also CMW on an Intel build is definitely worth getting, it's on par with the DMB almost and will do far higher damage then your MLGS. It gets multiple casts as well. I hit around 970 with my Murakamo(SP), the Uchigatana goes to to around 830 so it's extremely useful. The MLGS is put to shame damage and speed wise with most weapons applied with CMW, the only thing it does well is stunlock.
I just posted that in case anyone else wanted some info regarding Int builds since I saw Yesuurd was curious.

WoG spam ?
Seriously, you better go for 50 int, less vit and more att with a TCC and crystal sorceries.
Otherwise just do a regular str/faith build with man-serpent greatsword, it'll be the same.

I went 70 matches and only lost 4. If you think that the stunlock you get from Man-Serpent Greatsword is the same as Moonlight then you have obviously never used it, and its not a WoG spam. WoG basically serves as my shield for when they get too close, theres an armada of backstabbers out there you know. All I'm saying is don't knock it till you try it, and suggesting I make a build that doesn't use MGS is pretty silly on a thread named Moonlight Greatsword

Re: Moonlight Greatsword
I've used the 2 weps, I just don't see the point in making a int build using miracles and only miracles, if you use it against BSers and farmers it'll be more effective with a canvas or DM talisman.
And, like I said, I've used the 2 weps, the moonlight greatsword has a slightly better stunlock, you're right but is also inflicts magic damages only and against any faith build you're dead (They already have a good magic res and then GMB and it looks like you don't have any elemental backup wep just in case), a MSGS would be better 'cause you could buff it and the stunlock is not that different.
And WoG doesn't protect you from roll BSs, HMCS does.

Hey dude! Not really, I am just curious but I did enjoy how you switched from one weap to the other, I want to have different toons to play with.
I would say you influenced me to try to hold 2 weapons in one hand and switch, I was really impressed on how you managed that.
Thing is that if you had played me with the pierce weapon you would have more chance of winning because I am always at forest and there everyone uses MGS so I have that weapon all figured out, although the thing is that that sword once it hits it hits hard.

Well I guess it's my fault for not putting up my RH2 and LH2, but I'm still messing around with the build, what spells would you suggest I use because I have yet to find something better to replace WoG.

Re: Moonlight Greatsword
This actually gave me an idea. Not for duelling though, but nasty invasions.
Imagine being invaded, and you look around for the invader, and after a while you take a crystal soul spear to the butt, realising you've been ambushed. You turn around and find a chameleon casting a second soul spear, and you dodge and charge at it. As soon as you get close you receive a WoG to the face, supported by 44 int and Velka's talisman.
I suppose this would also work for dueling, where you want to use the MLGS and WoG to fend off farmers or punish chugging estus.
Sounds awesomely fun. This will be my next build wehn I go home.
