So I'm gonna be playing Unpatched Dark Souls.

My friend has a ps3 with no internet so all his games are unpatched. DkS is brutal, the burg hollows leap clear across the map to get you lol. Some times it feels like they are seeking u out in mid air like.they are laser targeted to you. As far as weapons you already mentioned the crystal ring shield. I'm curious to know if karmic justice is any different.

Black Leather Boots and Hollow Soldier's Shield are pretty ridiculous. I've weaned myself off of those, and I've never really used any of the other items listed with the exception of the Pyromancy Flame.

Balder shield, used to have 78 stability fully upgraded.

I use the Balder Shield for characters that don't normally use anything other than small shields in order to make some bosses more manageable without having to upgrade (66 base stability). That said, the Hollow Soldier Shield is the king of overpowered shields. In the unpatched game, it has 85 stability at +15.

Holy crap, that's high, I've got to use that.

Its not useless...

I used to use Iron Flesh to fight the Four Kings before I got somewhat decent at the game. I hardly use it now, so I probably wouldn't notice a nerf.

Not massively, all you get now is a poise boost, in exchange for being TWOPed.

It gives you an increases in physical and fire defense, a boost to poise and a deflection effect. Its only weakness is pretty much magic glass cannon builds but nothing is perfect.

I get back stabbed all the time while using Iron Flesh. I think the slow effect is just too bad.

I thought of recording an unpatched SL1 run... then it occurred to me that I would be unable to be summoned to help others and gain more souls faster to make upgrading weapons easier. Large Shards and Twinkling titanite would have to be farmed, rather than purchased.

Still... it's tempting. Just to see.

BKGA, hornets ring, elemental zweihander

Technically its elemental anything Serious, its just that the zweihander happens to be one of the better ones. Chaos zweihander is still good even after the patch.
