LOCK THREAD, resolved

So I went to pick up a White Phantom sign and my game froze. I can still go into the Playstation XMB menu and all that, but the game itself has the ambient noise of the level and the video is frozen completely. I have not seen this before (on DkS).

I am very worried about corrupting my file. I have put thousands of hours into this game... Does any one have any advice to go by this? Or do I just take a deep breathe, hope for the best, and "quit game" to the PS main menu?

Not to be rude, but do you use mega mule? I found that using that, freezes my ps3 so I stopped using it.

No, I do not use any hacks or cheats. At all.

I used the BB glitch a looong time ago... once... and felt too guilty to continue. I hate the concept of glitching games that are online.

Staring at my frozen screen still... getting nervous... I think I may have to dive in to the XMB menu and hope for the best.

Do you have playstation plus? if so, after you do the repair save your stuff in the online save. This way, if something happens down the road you will have your saves in a safe place. Sometimes I wish I had PS+ but can't afford that luxury. I've also noticed since our last psn patch I freeze up more often then usual. Haven't lost any saves yet.

I do not have PS+ but I just did a soft reset (happened automatically when I tried to quit game) and I only lost a little bit of progress. No corrupted file. Thank goodness...

Maybe I should look into PS+ just for it's Memory Cloud...
