    Vit: 40
    Att: 19
    End: 30
    Int: 44
    Dex: 40
    Faith: 8
    Res: 8
    Str: 14

So I want to do one of two things but I can't decide. Currently I use a Uchigatana with Crystal Magic Weapon that does around 830 damage. I want to either

    1. Put 14 points into Strength, which should get me to SL 136 I believe so I'm able to wield the Murakumo. It does 970 damage with CMW. I've never used it before and don't have any characters that can wield it to test it out, is it as fast as a katana and same moveset?

    or

    2. Put 20 points into Faith to reach 28, should be SL 144 I think. The main reason for this is for Great Magic Barrier and for WoG to help when I get jumped. I like being outnumbered but there honestly isn't much I can do on a Int/Dex build outnumbered without creating some space with WoG.

Which should I go for? I'm really not looking for any suggestions besides these two choices.

You can put less point is STR to be able to use the murakumo two handed, the only problem is stamina, because its a greatsword and you would need a bit more END to use it. You can also try the washing pole two handed and velka's rapier for a backup wpn

What Str requirement would I need to two hand a Murakumo? 14? I'm not really a big fan of two handing weapons but I'll consider it.

In my opinion, the Mura is too slow. I mean, yeah, it is a Curved Greatsword and it does pack quite a punch, but nowhere near as fast as a katana. 140 points isn't worth it. This is just my opinon though.

I think you'd be better off having a bag of tricks, of sorts, that you can use when you feel is necessary.

Hmm if it's a lot slower I could go for the washing pole possibly.

A shield? I don't like the idea of having to block with a sword.

    This.

Stop blocking and start dodging. The best thing to help my PvP was to drop the shield and dual wield a projectile in the left hand (magic, avelyn, etc...) and a sword in the right, ready to two hand at any moment. PvP rewards aggression usually.

Looking for which route to go not tips on how I should pvp. My crest shield has saved me more than enough times just from WoG and generally I have my shield down when in PvP unless I am positive I need to block.

Neither really fits well, thats why you're getting the feedback you are. If you're just going to spurn good advice you probably shouldn't bother asking for it.

The reasoning behind your points allocation is dependent on how you PvP. We're just giving (possibly better) suggestions for more options besides the two you gave.

My point, what advice i'd give has any number of variables @ by shutting them out you limit my ability to help and your potential strategic choices. ex: i'd say try 2h the washing pole with the grass crest shield on your back, no stat changes required so if you don't like it all you've lost is a few hours. BUT you have made it clear that your way is the only one you'll consider so i'm still confused as to why you bothered to ask for such limited advice on such a broad topic. Its like asking wether or not to buy a new suspension while trying to tune a race car. Then ignoring the people who tell you you could fix it with new tires.

I just managed to test it out, it's actually not bad. For a greatsword it's pretty damn fast in fact, but definitely does not compare to the katana like you said.

Maybe I should've just asked what kind of PvP build to make, then you could've written me an article on all the pros and cons of each one, the weapons I'd use with them, armor, and how to fight with each one. I narrowed it down because I like my current build and those are the two options I'm having trouble on. It's really not that difficult to explain to me which would be more useful to my current build or maybe mentioning how the Murakumo fares versus the Uchigatana like the poster that mentioned that above.

THATS MY POINT!!!!. YOU are proposing a major change to the build you like so much and EVERYONE ELSE, is trying to save you stats/ time by suggesting different, minor changes. If you actually READ my post you'd see that I recommend trying the washing pole first because you can 2hand it WITH YOUR CURRENT STATS, and not discover it after a irreversible @ potentially undesirable change. It has ~the same range as murakumo but is faster so benefits more from CMW. I am trying to help you, why do you belittle me?

I swear people here get hurt easily or rage on opinions, as if a negative rep point does anything. My point was that I didn't need any other advice when I specifically wrote in the OP that I needed help deciding on my own two choices I narrowed it down to. And that I required no other suggestions, I wrote that for a reason. Next time if I state the same thing I'll just ignore the posts that aren't related to my questions/topic.

Anyways, I went with the Murakamo and it's pretty awesome. I'll just use my MLGS to knock people off ledges if they jump me, figured 20 points of faith would be wasted just for WoG.

Sorry but I swear it's like people don't even attempt to read and take in information. I am asking for people's opinions regarding the two things I mentioned. Not whether I should two hand a weapon, or not use a shield, or not wear a mother's mask or anything regarding how I should PvP. Only two people on this entire topic actually provided useful information. Close this topic, my build is done.

    @OP

You asked for build advice. You should expect very broad answers and critiques related to your build despite any disclaimers. If your main question was how does Murakumo compare to an Uchi, then the topic should have read "Murakumo vs. Uchi" that asked for player's preference between the two. You simply cannot lay out an entire stat spread and not hope for a variety of feedback related to gear and styles. PvP nuts are always going to be excited and effusive in an attempt to help you, something to keep in mind as you phrase questions.
